At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped, and the cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is 49 liters (12.7 U.S. gal). 2. Support the air cleaner assembly with a wood block as shown. Disconnect air indicator hose (1). 3. Loosen clamp (4) and remove exhaust extension (2). Remove precleaner assembly (3).4. Fasten a lifting strap to grill (7). Remove bolts (5) and (6) and remove grill (7). 5. Fasten a hoist to front lifting eye (8) of the engine as shown. Support the front of the engine with the hoist. 6. Loosen, but do not remove two rear engine mounting bolts (9). These bolts are located on each side of the transfer case.7. Put slight lifting tension on the front of the engine.
View From Right Side of Machine8. Remove front engine mounting bolt (10) the washer and the upper half of the mount assembly from the front engine support.9. Remove four bolts (11) that hold the engine front support to the side of the engine. Remove engine front support (12).
View From Left Side Of Machine10. Remove oil filter (13). Loosen two hose clamps (15) and disconnect two hose assemblies (14). Loosen hose clamp (16) and disconnect hose (17).11. Remove the front engine mounting bolt (18) the washer and the upper half of the mount assembly from the front engine support.
View From Left Side Of Machine12. Remove four bolts (19) that hold the engine front support to the side of the engine. Remove engine front support (20). The following steps are for the installation of the engine front support.
View From Left Side Of Machine13. Install engine front support (20) and install four bolts (19). The weight of the engine front support is 6 kg (13 lb).
View From Left Side Of Machine14. Install the front engine mounting bolt (18) the washer and the upper half of the mount assembly to the front engine support.15. Connect hose (17) and tighten hose clamp (16). Connect two hose assemblies (14) and tighten hose clamps (15). Install oil filter (13).
View From Right Side Of Machine16. Install engine front support (12). Install four bolts (11) and the washers that hold the engine front support to the front housing of the engine.17. Install front engine mounting bolt (10) the washer and the upper half of the mount assembly from the front engine support. 18. Tighten two rear engine mounting bolts (9). These bolts are located on each side of the transfer case. 19. Install grill (7). Install bolts (5) and (6).20. Install exhaust extension (2) and tighten clamp (4). Install precleaner assembly (3). 21. Connect air indicator hose (1). Remove the wood block supporting the air cleaner assembly.22. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
