Information:

1. Put the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position on tool (A).2. Remove the two lines (1) from the fuel pump housing. 3. Install timing pin (C). The timing pin prevents rotation of the injection pump camshaft during removal of the sleeve.4. Install bolt (B) in the threads of sleeve (2).
Do not hit the bolt or the sleeve. Damage to the unit can be the result.
5. Remove the bolts (4) that hold body (3) to the housing. Remove the body from the housing. 6. Remove idler gear (7) from the body.7. Remove O-ring seal (6) and the two lip type seals (5) from the body. 8. Remove drive gear (8) and key (9) from the fuel injection pump camshaft.Install Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Install the inner seal in the body with tooling (C). Install the outer seal with tooling (D). The lip of the inner seal must be toward the pump gears. The lip of the outer seal must be toward the outside. 2. Install key (2) and drive gear (1) on the shaft. 3. Install O-ring seal (4) and idler gear (3) in the body.4. Install tool (E) on the shaft. Install body (5) on the housing. Install the bolts that hold the body to the housing.5. Put sleeve (6) in position on the camshaft. The timing pin must be in position in the camshaft so the camshaft will not turn during assembly. 6. Install a new sleeve on the camshaft with tooling (B). Any time the drive sleeve is removed from the camshaft, a new one must be installed. The camshaft has serration (splines) that cut grooves into the drive sleeve when it is installed to give a positive drive. If a formerly used drive sleeve is installed again, it can slip (slide around) on the camshaft.
Do not hit the sleeve with the hammer to install it. This will put end force on the camshaft and cause damage to the other components in the pump housing.
7. The end clearance of the camshaft must be .023 .018 in. (0.58 0.46 mm) after sleeve (6) is installed.end by:a) install fuel injection pump housing and governorRemove Fuel Injection Pumps
start by:a) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor
Thoroughly clean the outside of the pump housing before the fuel injection pumps are removed.
1. Put the pump housing in position on tool (A). Remove the bolts that hold cover, then remove cover (1). 2. Loosen the bushing from the pump housing with tool (B). Do not loosen screws (2). If the screws are loosened, the fuel pump adjustment will be changed.3. Remove the fuel injection pumps from the housing. The sleeve on the plunger will slide off the lever as the pump is removed.Install Fuel Injection Pumps
1. Put the fuel injection pumps (1) in the bore in the pump housing so the sleeve (2) is engaged with lever (3).
If the screws in the levers have been loosened, an adjustment must be made for the fuel pumps. See FUEL PUMP CALIBRATION as shown in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE2. Tighten the bushing for the fuel pump with tool (B) to a torque of 70 5 lb.ft. (95 7 N m).3. Install cover with the bolts that hold it.4. Remove fuel injection pump from tool (A).end by:a) install fuel injection pump housing and governorDisassemble Fuel Injection Pumps
start by:a) remove fuel injection pumps 1. Remove the bushing (1) from the bonnet (2).2. Remove the ring (3) from the bonnet and barrel (7). Remove the check valve (6) and spring (4) from the bonnet.3. Remove the spring (8) and washer (5). Remove the plunger (9) and sleeve (10). Keep the plunger and sleeve with their respective barrel for installation. Do not use plungers, sleeves and barrels with other plungers, sleeves and barrels.Assemble Fuel Injection Pumps
1. Install the sleeve (4), plunger (5), spring (2) and washer (3) on the barrel (1). Be sure sleeve and plunger are installed in original barrel, and large hole in plunger is up.2.
