Information:


At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
2. Release the pressure in the cooling system. Drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is 135 liters (35.1 U.S. gal).3. Drain the oil from the transmission oil cooler into a suitable container for disposal.

View From Under Machine4. Remove the bolts and two retainers (1) from the tube assembly.5. Remove the four bolts and manifold (2). 6. Remove clip (3).7. Remove tube assembly (4). 8. Remove clip (5). 9. Fasten a lift strap and a hoist to the transmission oil cooler as shown.10. Remove the ten bolts that hold water lines adapter (6). Remove the water lines adapter.11. Remove five bolts (7). Remove the transmission oil cooler. The weight of the transmission oil cooler is approximately 32 kg (80 lb). 12. Remove water pump bonnet (8) from the transmission oil cooler.13. Remove the O-ring seals from the ends of the transmission oil cooler.14. Remove the gasket that is used between the transmission oil cooler and the water pump bonnet. Remove the gasket that is used between the transmission oil cooler and the water lines adapter. The following steps are for the installation of the transmission oil cooler.15. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the ends of the transmission oil cooler. Also, check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the ends of the tube assemblies that connect to the transmission oil cooler. If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 16. Carefully clean the tube bundles in the transmission oil cooler with a 3.2 mm (.125 in) diameter rod.17. Install the O-ring seals in the ends of the transmission oil cooler.18. Install a new gasket and water pump bonnet (8) on the transmission oil cooler.19. Fasten a hoist to the transmission oil cooler. Put the cooler in position on the engine.20. Install bolts (7) that hold the water pump bonnet in position. Do not remove the hoist from the transmission oil cooler at this time.21. Install a new gasket and the water lines adapter on the transmission oil cooler.22. Install the ten bolts that hold water lines adapter (6) to the engine. Remove the hoist from the transmission oil cooler.23. Reinstall clip (5).24. Reinstall tube assembly (4).25. Reinstall clip (3).26. Reinstall manifold (2) and the four bolts which hold it.27. Reinstall two retainers (1) and the bolts which hold them.28. Fill the transmission with oil to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.29. Fill the cooling system with coolant. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.End By:a. install crankcase guards (rear only)
