Information:
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Open the right door.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system until the coolant level is below the water temperature regulator. Use a suitable container for proper storage or disposal. Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7265, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the 924G Wheel Loader or refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7266, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the 924Gz Wheel Loader.

Loosen hose clamp (1) and disconnect hose (2). Note: Additional components are removed for illustration purposes.
Remove four bolts (4).
Remove water temperature regulator housing (3) and the gasket.

Remove ring (5) by bending the tabs.
Remove water temperature regulator (6). Installation Procedure

Place water temperature regulator (6) into the housing.
Install ring (5) into the housing.

Place the gasket and water temperature regulator housing (3) in position.
Install four bolts (4).
Connect hose (2) and tighten clamp (1).
Fill the radiator with coolant. Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7265, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the 924G Wheel Loader or refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7266, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the 924Gz Wheel Loader.
Close the right door. End By:
Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the proper procedure.
