Information:
1. Remove seat retaining ring (1) and pin (2) under the ring. 2. Remove seat (3), governor bolt (4), washer (5) and spring (6).3. Remove the ring and pin that hold the sleeve on the valve. Remove the sleeve and bearing from the valve and weight unit. 4. Remove retaining ring (9) and sleeve (7).5. Remove bearing (10) and races (8) from sleeve (7). 6. Remove valve (14) from piston (16). Remove retaining ring (12).7. Remove weight unit (11).8. Remove piston (16) and sleeve (13) from cylinder (15).9. Remove the O-ring seal from sleeve (13). 10. Remove high idle screw (18) and low idle screw (17). 11. Remove bolt (19) and lock.12. Remove the shaft and lever from governor housing.13. Remove the seal, plug and two bearings from the governor housing.Assemble Governor
1. Install the plunger, spring and pin in levers (2).2. Dimensions (X) and (Y) are controlled by the depths of bearings (1) and (3) in the governor housing. Install bearings (1) and (3) with tooling (A). Install levers (2) and the shaft into the governor housing. With levers (2) pushed against bearing (3) on the detent side, the clearance [dimension (Y)] between the guide for the governor spring and levers (2) must be approximately .110 in. (2.79 mm). Push levers (2) against bearing (1) on the other side. The clearance [dimension (X)] between the guide for the governor spring and lever (2) must be approximately .141 in. (3.58 mm). If the measurements are not correct, remove the levers and shaft and move the bearings as necessary to get the correct measurement. After the bearings are installed, there must be approximately .015 in. (.38 mm) end play in the levers. Remove the shaft and levers.3. Install the plug on the detent side of the governor housing with tooling (A) to a depth of .091 .020 in. (2.3 0.5 mm). Install the lip type seal on the opposite side of the governor housing with tooling (A). Install the lip type seal with the spring loaded lip toward the inside of the housing. Put lubricant that is to be sealed on the lips of the seal.4. Put the levers and shaft in position in the governor housing. Install bolt (4) and lock. 5. Install high idle screw (6) and low idle screw (5) in the governor housing.6. Install torque control assembly (7).7. Install O-ring seal (11) on sleeve (10). 8. Install piston (9) on sleeve (10) in cylinder (8). 9. Put weight unit (13) in position on cylinder (8) and install ring (12). 10. Install valve (15) in piston (9).11. Install the bearing and races on the sleeve. Install the ring. Install the sleeve and bearing (14) on valve (15).12. Install pin (17) and ring (16) that hold the sleeve on the valve. 13. Put seat (19), bolt (18), washer and spring in position on valve (15). Install the retaining pin and ring (20) that hold the pin and valve together.end by:a) connection of governor to fuel injection pump housingb) install fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unitc) make rack setting and governor adjustment (See FUEL RACK SETTING AND GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
