Information:

5. Turn the fuel supply valve (1) to the "OFF" position. Follow Steps 6 through 11 for direct drive and special application.
Direct Drive And Special Application6. Remove cotter pin and pin (3), and disconnect flywheel clutch lever (2) from the linkage.7. Loosen clamps (4) and pull hose (5) toward magnetic filter.
Direct Drive And Special Application8. Disconnect hose (6) from flywheel clutch case.
Direct Drive And Special Application9. Disconnect hose (7) from tube assembly.
Direct Drive And Special Application10. Disconnect hose (8) from oil pump.11. Disconnect tube assembly (9). Remove magnetic filter assembly (10). Follow Step 12 for power shift machine.
Direct Drive And Special Application12. Disconnect grease line (11) from flexible coupling drive. Remove bolts (12) and remove bracket (13).
Power Shift13. Disconnect grease line clip (14) from oil pan plate. 14. Disconnect water temperature switch (15). If machine is equipped with an air conditioner, follow Steps 15 through 17. 15. Disconnect wire (17) from the water temperature regulator housing.16. Loosen three bolts (16) and loosen the nuts on the adjusting rod. Move the air compressor toward the engine and remove the belt for the air conditioning compressor.17. Remove bolt (18) that holds the adjusting rod to the bracket. Remove the bolts (16) and move the air conditioning compressor away from the engine. 18. Shut off heater valves. Loosen clamps (19). Remove hose clamp and remove hoses (20). Pull hoses clear of engine. 19. Disconnect hydraulic lines bracket (21) from machine frame and pull hoses clear of engine. 20. Disconnect fuel pressure line (22) and oil pressure line (23). 21. Disconnect fuel line (24) from fuel filter. Disconnect governor linkage by removal of the cotter pin and pin (25). Disconnect the hydraulic control linkage (or linkages if machine is equipped with a bulldozer tilt control (26). 22. Put identification on the wires and disconnect wiring from starter (27). Pull battery cable clear of engine. 23. Remove four bolts and spacers from engine rear supports (28). 24. Put tool (A) in position on engine and fasten it to a hoist. For direct drive and special application the front chain must be approximately four links shorter to make clearance for the filter and flywheel clutch case. 25. Remove engine front support bolts (29) and remove engine. The weight of the engine is 2500 lb. (1134 kg). Remove shims from rear supports. Put identification on the shims for correct installation.Install Engine (Power Shift, Direct Drive And Special Application)
1. Install original amount of shims (1) to frame at engine rear support locations. When engine is installed into tractor, frame surfaces, bracket surfaces and shim surfaces must be free of dirt, paint, rust and any other foreign material. 2. Install tool (A) on engine (2). Fasten a hoist to tool (A) and put the engine in position on the machine frame.3. Install the two bolts that hold the engine front support to the machine frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 325 25 lb.ft. (440 35 N m).4. Install the four bolts and spacers for the engine rear supports. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 200 25 lb.ft. (270 35 N m). 5. Connect wiring to starter (3). 6. Connect fuel line (4) to fuel filter.7. Connect governor linkage (5) with the pin and cotter pin.8. Connect hydraulic linkage (6) (or linkages if machine is equipped with a bulldozer tilt control). 9. Connect the fuel pressure line (7) and the oil pressure line (8). 10. Install hydraulic lines bracket (9) on frame. 11. Put heater hoses (10) in position and tighten clamps (11). Fasten hose clamp to engine and open heater valves. 12. Connect water temperature switch (12). If machine is equipped with an air conditioner, follow Steps 13 through 15.13. Put the air conditioning compressor in position on the water temperature regulator housing and install three bolts (14). Install bolt (16).14. Connect wire (15) to the water temperature regulator housing.15. Put belt (13) in position on the pulleys and make an adjustment to the belt tension. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. Follow Steps 16 through 22 for direct drive and special application machines. 16. Put the magnetic filter (17) in position and install bolts.17. Connect the tube assembly (18) to the oil pump. 18. Connect hose (19) to tube assembly. 19. Connect hose (20) to the flywheel clutch case. 20. Connect hose (21) to the oil pump. 21. Put flywheel clutch lever (23) in position and install pin (22) and cotter pin.22. Put those (24) in position and tighten clamps (25). Follow Step 23 for power shift machines. 23. Connect grease line (26) to flexible coupling drive. Put bracket (27) in position and install bolts. 24. Connect grease line clamp (28) to oil pan plate.25. Turn the valve for the fuel supply to the "ON" position.26. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See MAINTENANCE GUIDE.27. Fill the transmission and bevel gear case with oil to the correct level.
