This Program is provided to the dealer for informational puposes only. No claims will be accepted. A SIMS entry will automatically be made to document that the engine emission label and customer notification letter was mailed to the owners of the Affected Product within NACD.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 1, 2000 Service Letter. Changes were made to the Title, Problem, Owner Notification, and Illustration sections to remove machines that should not have been listed in this service letter.

Parts Needed
Dealers will not need to order parts for this Program. A replacement engine emission label for each affected machine is enclosed with the Owner Notification Letter and mailed directly to the owner (sample copy attached, for reference).
Action Required
No Dealer action is needed, unless Dealer is on record as the Owner of the machine. The Owner Notification Letter informs the Customer that the engine Emission Label may not have been installed on the valve cover of the engine of his Affected machine s/n. Each Owner Notification Letter includes a replacement Emission Label, and requests the customer to apply it to the top of the valve cover of the engine in his Affected Machine.
In cases where Dealer is the machine owner (Dealer inventory, rental fleet, etc), Dealer will receive the Owner Notification Letter, and is expected to install the label. If unit has been sold, and Dealer receives the Owner Notification Letter, Dealer is expected to inform the Customer and forward the Owner Notification Letter and label for Customer to install.

Owner Notification
A copy of the Owner Notification letter that will include the emission label is attached. A pre-addressed and postage paid "return envelope" will be included for owner notification letter and label, if the owner no longer has the machine; or if the engine already has an emission label.
Service Claim Allowances
No Parts, Labor, or other expenses are allowed. Replacement Emission Labels are included with the Owner Notification Letters, and are expected to be installed by the Owner at owner's convenience. This Service Letter is intended to provide a permanent record of Affected Machines for which Owner Notification Letters and replacement Labels were sent, and to inform Dealers.
