Remove the engine enclosure (hood). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Enclosure (Hood) - Remove and Install".
Remove the fuel priming pump and fuel filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Priming Pump and Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install".
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the hydraulic oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
Drain the fuel from the fuel tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

Loosen the two clamps. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (3) from hydraulic oil cooler (1).

Loosen the two clamps. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5) from hydraulic oil cooler (1).

Remove the two cable straps that secure hose (7) to fan guard (6).
Remove the six bolts, the six washers, and fan guard (6).

Loosen the clamp. Remove hose (9) from shunt tank (8).

Loosen the clamp and remove hose (10).

Loosen the clamp and remove hose (12).
Loosen the clamp and remove hose (13) from radiator (11).

Attach Tooling (A) to radiator (11). The weight of radiator (11) and hydraulic oil cooler (1) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

Remove two bolts and the two washers from the bottom of radiator (11) and hydraulic oil cooler (1).
