The main panel on the EMCP includes the operator display and the push-button switches that are for the engine control switch.The annunciator panels provide visual indications and audible indications of diagnostic codes and event codes that become active.The emergency stop button, the indicator that is for the ether system, and the speed potentiometer are located on the lower panel.Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR7902, "EMCP3" for information that is related to the EMCP 3.Data Link Features
The data links that are for C175 engines provide communication among the various controllers that are on the engine. These data links also provide communications with engine supervisory systems that are not located on the engine.Cat Data Link
This data link is exclusively used for communications between the engine ECM and Cat ET. The functionality of the service tool will be limited if the Cat Data Link is not connected during communication with Cat ET.Global CAN Data Link (Engine)
The global CAN data link allows communication with the following control systems and engine supervisory systems that are not located on the engine:
Engine ECM
Exhaust temperature module
EMCP 3
Service tool connector that is located on the generator set packageNote: Some service tool connectors may not provide a global CAN data link for Cat ET. Functionality of the service tool will be limited if Cat ET is not using dual data link communication. Cat ET must be connected to a service tool connector that provides a connection to the global CAN data link for the engine.
