Information:
1. Remove seven bolts (1) and the clips that hold the wire harness to support (2). Move the wire harness clear of the support.2. Remove the bolts that hold regulator (3) and the tee to the support.3. Fasten a hoist to the support. Remove the four bolts that hold the support to the engine and transmission support. Remove the support. Weight is 90 lb. (41 kg). 4. Loosen bolt (4) to remove tension on the fan belts. 5. Loosen two clamps (5) and slide the hose up on the radiator elbow. Disconnect temperature sending unit (6) from the cylinder head. Disconnect wire (7) from the temperature sending unit in the side of the head.6. Remove bolt (8) and the bracket from the cylinder head. Install a 3/4"-10 NC forged eyebolt in place of bolt (8).7. Remove bolt (9) from the side of the head. Bolt (9) holds the tube from the air fuel ratio control to the head. 8. Fasten a hoist to the fan drive. Remove four bolts (10) and use a piece of wire to hold the fan drive up.
Do not let the fan damage the radiator core.
9. Remove bolts (11) and move the lines clear of the cylinder head. 10. Remove all of bolts (12) that hold cylinder head (13) to the cylinder block.11. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder head and remove it. Weight is 210 lb. (95 kg).12. Remove the cylinder head gasket.Install Cylinder Head
1. Clean the machined surfaces of the cylinder head and cylinder block that make contact with the cylinder head gasket. 2. Put a new cylinder head gasket in position on the cylinder block. Make sure the holes in the cylinder head gasket are all in alignment with the holes in the cylinder block. Fasten a hoist to cylinder head (1) and put it in position on the cylinder block.3. Install the push rods. Put the rocker shaft in position on the cylinder head.
Make sure the dowels in the rocker shaft assembly are in alignment with the holes in the cylinder head before the bolts are installed and tightened.
4. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the cylinder head bolts and rocker shaft bolts. Install the bolts and washers and tighten the bolts as follows: a) Tighten all the bolts in number sequence to a torque of 115 lb.ft. (155.9 N m).b) Tighten all bolts in number sequence to a torque of 175 5 lb.ft. (237.3 6.8 N m).c) Tighten all bolts in number sequence (hand turn only) to a torque of 175 5 lb.ft. (237.3 6.8 N m). The minimum amount of torque on these bolts after the engine is warm must be 150 lb.ft. (203.4 N m).d) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 22 lb.ft. (29.8 N m).e) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 32 5 lb.ft. (43.4 6.8 N m).f) Tighten all bolts in letter sequence (hand turn only) to a torque of 32 5 lb.ft. (43.4 6.8 N m). The minimum amount of torque on these bolts must be 27 lb.ft. (36.6 N m) after the engine is warm.5. Make adjustments until the intake valve clearance is .015 in. (0.38 mm) and the exhaust valve clearance is .025 in. (0.64 mm). See VALVE CLEARANCE SETTING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING Form No. SENR7355. 6. Put the lines in position on the front of the cylinder head and install the clips and bolts (2).7. Fasten a hoist to the fan drive and put it in position on the front of the cylinder head. Install four bolts (3).8. Slide the hose down on the elbow on the cylinder head and tighten the two clamps. 9. Connect temperature sending unit (4) to the cylinder head and connect the wire to the temperature sending unit in the side of the head.10. Install bolt (6) that holds the tube for the air fuel ratio control to the cylinder head.11. Remove the eyebolt and install bracket (5) on the cylinder head.12. Make adjustments to the fan belts on the tractor engine and scraper engine. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. 13. Fasten a hoist and put support (7) in position on the engine and transmission support. Install the bolts that hold it in place. 14. Put wire harness (8) and regulator (9) and the tee in position on the support and install the bolts that hold them in place.end by:a) install exhaust manifoldb) install aftercooler
