Crankshaft seals must be installed with the lip of the seal toward the inside of the engine as shown. Make sure the correct seal is installed on each end of the crankshaft. Use 2W1733 Seal Group on the front and 2W1734 Seal Group on the rear. No lubrication is needed to install wear sleeves and seals.c. Do not separate seals from sleeves. Install the seal groups as a unit on each end of the engine as shown, with the correct tools.
