Information:

1. Loosen hose clamp (2).2. Disconnect hose (3) from turbocharger (1). 3. Disconnect lubricating oil pipe (5).4. Remove bolts (4) and the washers to disconnect drain pipe (6). The studs are double nutted for a total of six nuts.5. Remove nuts (8).6. Remove pipe (7) and the gasket, not shown. Check the gasket for wear or damage. If damaged, use new parts as replacements.7. Loosen hose clamp (9).8. Disconnect hose (10). The four studs are double nutted for a total of eight nuts.9. Remove nuts (11).10. Remove turbocharger (1), oil pipe (5) and drain pipe (6) as a unit.11. Remove metal gasket, (not shown). Check the metal gasket for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. The following steps are for the installation of the turbocharger. Check the condition of the gasket used between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold. If the gasket is damaged, use a new part for replacement.12. Install metal gasket, (not shown) and turbocharger (1), oil pipe (5) and drain pipe (6) as a unit on the exhaust manifold.13. Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the turbocharger mounting studs. The four studs are double nutted for a total of eight nuts.14. Install nuts (11). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 54 5 N m (40 4 lb ft).15. Connect hose (10) and tighten hose clamp (9).16. Install pipe (7) and the gasket, not shown. Check the gasket for wear or damage. The studs are double nutted for a total of six nuts.17. Install nuts (8).18. Connect lubricating oil pipe (5).19. Install bolts (4) and the washers to connect drain pipe (6).20. Connect hose (3) to turbocharger (1).21. Tighten hose clamp (2). Refer to the Topic "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" in the "Operation and Maintenance Manual" for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the engine oil.End By:a. install mufflerDisassemble & Assemble Turbocharger
Start By:a. remove turbocharger Note and identify the orientation of the housings before beginning the disassembly procedure. 1. Remove three bolts (1).2. Remove two lines (2). 3. Remove two gaskets (3). Inspect the gaskets for wear or damage. If damaged use new parts as replacements. 4. Remove bolt (4) and the nut. Remove clamp (5).5. Separate turbocharger housing (8) from housing (9). 6. Remove snap ring (6) with Tool (A).7. Remove turbocharger assembly (7) from housing (8).
(4) Bolt And Nut. (5) Clamp. (6) Snap Ring. (7) Turbocharger Assembly. (8) Housing. (9) Housing. Gaskets (3) and Lines (1) and (2) are not shown in photo C50490P1. The following steps are for the assembly of the turbocharger.
The wheel assembly (impeller) has sharp edges and can cause personal injury if not handled carefully.
Check the condition of the gasket. If the gasket is damaged, use a new part for replacement.8. Install turbocharger assembly (7) to housing (8).9. Using Tool (A) install snap ring (6).10. Install turbocharger housing (8) to housing (9).11. Install clamp (5). Install bolt (4) and the nut.12. Install two gaskets (3).13. Install two lines (2).14.
