Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Cut cable strap (2) and cable straps (4).
Make temporary marks on hose (3), and hose (10). Note hose clamp locations for installation purposes.
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (1) and position away from crankcase breather canister (12).
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (5) and position away from breather heater (7).
Disconnect hose assembly (3) from breather heater (7) and crankcase breather canister (12).
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (11) and position away from crankcase breather canister (12).
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (9) and position away from stub pipe (8) (not shown).
Disconnected hose assembly (9) from crankcase breather canister (12) and stub pipe (8) (not shown).
Make temporary marks on hose (14) to identify the correct orientation for installation purposes. Note hose clamp locations for installation purposes.Note: A one-way valve is installed into the hose, incorrectly installing the hose can cause catastrophic engine failure.
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (13) and position away from crankcase breather canister (12).
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (15) and position away from stub pipe (16) (not shown).
Disconnect hose assembly (14) from crankcase breather canister (12) and stub pipe (16) (not shown).
Remove bolts (18) from crankcase breather canister (12).
Remove crankcase breather canister (12) from bracket (17).
If necessary, disassemble the crankcase breather canister. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Crankcase Breather (Canister) - Replace" for the correct procedure.

Follow Step 16a through Step 16c to disassemble valve mechanism cover (21).
Remove valve mechanism cover (21). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove screws (20) and carefully remove baffle plate (19) valve mechanism cover (21).
If necessary, remove adaptor (8) from valve mechanism cover (21).Breather Heater Remove
If necessary, remove the breather heater.

Disconnect harness assembly from breather heater (7).Note: Note hose clamp positions for installation purposes.
Using a suitable tool, compress hose clamp (22) and remove heater assembly from air inlet connection (23). Remove hose clamp (22) from air inlet connector (23).Breather Heater Install
If necessary, install the breather heater.

Install new hose clamp (22) onto air inlet connection (23) and install heater assembly into air inlet connection (23).
Connect harness assembly to breather heater (7).Installation Procedure

Make sure that the components of the breather assembly are installed correctly. Engine damage may occur if the breather assembly is not working properly.

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. Replace any parts that are worn or damaged. Ensure the cavity for the breather in valve mechanism cover (21) is clean and free from restriction.
