Make temporary marks on hose assembly (3) and hose assembly (8) for installation purposes.
Cut cable strap (4), cable strap (5), and cable straps (9), noting positions for installation purposes.
Follow Step 3a through Step 3c to remove hose assembly (3).
Position hose clamp (1) away from breather heater (2).
Position hose clamp (10) away from breather canister (11).
Remove hose (3) from breather heater (2) and breather canister (11).
Follow Step 3a through Step 3c to remove hose assembly (8).
Position hose clamp (7) away from adaptor (6).
Position hose clamp (12) away from breather canister (11).
Remove hose (8) from adaptor (6) and breather canister (11).

Cut all cable straps (16) securing engine harness assembly (23) to bracket (25), noting positions for installation purposes.
Disconnect engine harness connector (24) from boost pressure sensor (14).
Make temporary marks on engine harness connectors (21) for installation purposes. Disconnect the engine harness connectors from fuel injectors (22).
Disconnect engine harness connector (19) from throttle valve (18).
Position engine harness assembly (23) away from bracket (25).
Remove bolts (13), bolt (15) (not shown), and bolt (17) from bracket (25). Remove the bracket.
Remove the throttle valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Throttle Valve (Intake Air) - Remove" for the correct procedure.

Remove cap nuts (27) and sealing washers (28) (not shown) from valve mechanism cover (26) in the reverse of sequence shown in Illustration 8. Remove the valve mechanism cover.Note: Note the orientation of the valve mechanism cover for installation purposes.

Follow Step 13a through Step 13c to disassemble valve mechanism cover (26).
If necessary, remove cap (29) from valve mechanism cover (26).
If necessary, remove adaptor (31) from valve mechanism cover (26).
Remove O-ring seal (30) from valve mechanism cover (26).Note: Discard O-ring seal.Installation Procedure

Thoroughly clean all gasket surfaces of valve mechanism cover (26). Clean the gasket surfaces of the rocker shaft assembly.
Install new O-ring seal (30) to valve mechanism cover (26).Note: Ensure that the gasket is fully seated into the groove of the valve mechanism cover.
Position valve mechanism cover (26) onto the rocker shaft assembly in the position noted on the removal.

Valve mechanism cover torque sequence.
Install sealing washers (28) (not shown) and cap nuts (27) to valve mechanism cover (26) in the sequence shown in Illustration 8 finger tight.
Tighten cap nuts (27) in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 8. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 5 N m (44 lb in).
Tighten cap nuts (27) in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 8. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 14 N m (124 lb in).
If necessary install adaptor (31) to valve mechanism cover. Tighten the adaptor to a torque of 20 N m (177 lb in).
If necessary install cap (29) to valve mechanism cover. Tighten the adaptor to a torque of 3 N m (27 lb in).
Install the throttle valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Throttle Valve (Intake Air) - Remove" for the correct procedure.
