This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8407" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Certain 3412 Electronically Controlled (PEEC) Generator Set Engines, equipped with EMCP II Control Panels, may develop a shutdown fault (CID 330, FMI 7). This fault code may occur while the engine is trying to restart while coasting down after a normal shutdown and while the engine is still turning above 400 RPM.
Group 2
Certain 3412 Electronically Controlled (PEEC) Generator Set Engines, equipped with EMCP II Control Panels, may also exhibit problems with starting, unstable operation, poor droop capabilities and black smoke.

1. Install one additional 1111324 Contact Block (N.C.) to the ESTB (Emergency Stop Pushbutton) circuit. Refer to the D.C. Schematic and Wiring Diagram - Main Chassis in Service Manual, SENR5827.2. Remove wire #40 from GSC terminal #15, and connect this wire to one terminal of the new ESTB N.C. 1111324 Contact Block. Refer to the Illustration below: A 1111324 is an Allen-Bradley contact block. If a G.E. was supplied, use one 2W8800 Contact Block (N.C.).
3. Add a wire (#16 AWG minimum) from the other terminal of the ESTB N.C. contact and connect it to GSC terminal # 15.4. Remove wire #39 from GSC terminal #4, and connect it to GSC terminal #15. On some EMCP II Control Panels, a 2W8800 Contact Block (N.C.) will be needed.
Group 2
1. Remove the Personality Module (PM) cover from the Electronic Control Module (ECM).2. Remove the existing PM.3. Install the new PM.4. .Replace PM cover on ECM.
