Introduction
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information. Do not order any parts until you have read the information and understand the information. For the C175-16 & 3516C Tier 4I gensets, the engine ECM pin J1-22 is now used for "Inducement Override". Once "Inducement Override" has been enabled through Cat ET. This pin out was formerly labeled as "Driven Equipment Shutdown" (which was used for the Ether option in the EMCP panels). Once the Inducement Override feature is enabled in Cat ET and once the engine ECM pin J1-22 is taken to digital reference the override will become active. The below diagrams are examples of wiring and depending on the vintage of harness, type of EMCP and optional attachments installed on the EMCP panel. There will be variations in how the Inducement Override circuit is mounted and wired. There are two switches that can be used for the Inducement Override. The 301-2981 Toggle Switch is designed and uses a guard to prevent accidental activation. The 368-4538 Rocker Switch is a design contains a locking tab to prevent accidental activation. Depending on which switch is chosen, below are the parts needed to complete the installation of the Inducement Override.Required Parts

Toggle Switch Installation and Wiring Instructions for Generator Mounted EMCP & Wall Mounted EMCP Panels.
Note: For C175 engines wire1is already present in the existing harness to the generator interface connection for Generator-mounted EMCP Panels & the harness for the Remote Mounted EMCP Panel, proceed to step #2.
Wire 1: Cut an 18 AWG wire and crimp a 9X-3402 Connector Socket on each end or a 180-9340 Connector Socket on one end depending on the EMCP panel used. Insert one end of the wire with 9X-3402 Connector Socket into the engine ECM connector J1 pin 22. The other end will run along the harness up to the generator control box and insert pin 9 at the connector interface into the control box (generator-mounted EMCP). The new wire will need to be run externally and secured to the existing harness using tie straps or some other means.

Reference image above for location of the generator interface connection:
For Wall Mounted EMCP the new wire will need to run along the interconnect harness to the remote mounted EMCP Panel and the wire end with the 180-9340 Connector Socket will be inserted into the 1U-9458 Connector military style connector that connects to the EMCP panel.Note: The wire with the 180-9340 Connector Socket will need to be inserted into the connector in one of the open holes that is not being used. Pin 51 is suggested as this pin location is for the optional Ether wire.

Depending on optional attachments that were added to the EMCP panel, there will be an existing hole that can be used to mount toggle switch. The 376-3101 Blind Grommet can be removed and the 301-2981 Toggle Switch can be installed. The toggle switch can mount directly into one of the non-used holes in the EMCP panel. Install the toggle switch and 3E-5169 Switch Guard together to prevent both pieces from rotating.
