This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS46890" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
The existing hose clamps on the sea water hose from the auxiliary water pump can fail on certain C18 Marine Engines. If the existing clamps fail, it will lead to loss of clamping force on the hose, which may result in sea water leaks.

This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.
ACTION REQUIRED
Note: Take the necessary actions to contain any sea water that may leak when the hose is removed.
1. Refer to Image 1. Loosen clamp assembly (2). Remove the clamps (3) and hose (4).
2. Loosely install four new 295-5550 hose clamps, in the orientation as shown in Image 2, over a length of 115 ? 5 mm (4.53 ? 0.20 in) of 371-8946 Hose (4).
3. Install the hose on the pump outlet elbow (1) and the aftercooler inlet bonnet (5). Make sure the elbow (1) is aligned with the bonnet (5). Tighten the clamp assembly (2) to a torque of 20 ? 5 N?m (15 ? 4 lb ft).
4. Using the tightening sequence as shown in Image2, tighten the 295-5550 Hose Clamps to 5 N-m (44 lb-in).
5. Ensure that the sea water system has the proper prime.
