Note: The following changes are being implemented in the above listed flash filesIssue
Extended idle in extreme cold conditions can lead to intake icing and poor combustion, which could result in engine and machine failure.Resolution
The intake manifold freeze protection (IMFP) strategy has been modified to include the following protection updates:
Dynamically increase engine speed based on a minimum charge air cooler outlet (CACO) temperature threshold in an attempt to maintain a sufficient intake manifold temperature during extended idling.
Continuously monitor intake manifold air pressure (IMAP) relative to barometric pressure.
In articulated truck applications, fan speeds during extended idling will be reduced when the CACO temperature drops below 0° C (32° F) for longer than 60 seconds. When this event becomes active, the low fan speed diagnostic codes will be disabled.A protective engine shutdown will occur when:
Conditions exist that do not permit the minimum CACO temperature to be met for a specified duration.
If the CACO temperature cannot maintain 10° C (50° F) or higher, an E1107: Low Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature fault will be logged, along with the protective shutdown.
The IMAP drops below barometric pressure for a specified duration
Event code E1045 (3) will annunciate the low IMAP condition.Issue
After an E991(3) DPF Active Regeneration Inhibited Due to Permanent System Lockout event code has become active. The machine will shut down after 30 seconds. The 30 second window would not allow for a service tool to make a connection.Resolution
The machine will now run for 3 minutes after an E991(3) event code has become active to allow sufficient time for a service tool to make a connection.Issue
If a machine reached temporary system lockout due an E992(3) event code while the IMFP or Cold CACO strategy was active, the IMFP or Cold CACO strategy would prevent the machine from shutting down. This could lead to the machine reaching permanent system lockout due to an E991(3) event code.Resolution
The IMFP and Cold CACO strategies no longer prevent a machine shutdown if an E992(3) event code becomes active.Issue
The 6015B Hydraulic Shovel uses multiple emergency stops around the machine. If one of the emergency stops is tripped, the display does not indicate which emergency stop was tripped.Resolution
The software was updated to provide notification as to which emergency stop was tripped.Issue
If a machine is shut down while hot and restarted within a short amount of time after the shutdown, the hot hydraulic oil in the lines can cause the hydraulic oil temperature to rise at a rate greater than the threshold. When this issue occurs, the fan is set to maximum speed.Resolution
A start-up delay timer was introduced to allow the hydraulic oil temperature to stabilize before determining if fan speed needs to be set to the maximum.Issue
The machine display only displays the throttle lock mode as "ON" or "OFF" and does not indicate if the lock mode is in auto or manual mode. This issue applies to motor grader applications.Resolution
The motor grader machine display will notify the operator if the throttle lock mode is in auto or manual.Issue
Applications that operate at high load factors for extended periods can generate high exhaust temperatures. The high exhaust temperatures can cause the DPF intake temperature to overshoot during regenerations. The regeneration is shut down to protect the DPF from high temperatures. Multiple kick out events could cause the soot load to increase above 90 percent, requiring manual regenerations. The event code E1008(1) High DPF #1 Intake Temperature is associated with this issue.Resolution
If exhaust temperatures are above the DPF pre-heat temperature, the pre-heat portion of the regeneration is bypassed to allow the regeneration to occur.Issue
The D7E Track-Type Tractor currently uses an electric water pump for engine jacket water and separate circuit cooling.Resolution
The software includes support for future installation of mechanical water pumps for engine jacket water and separate circuit cooling. Requires associated mechanical water pump hardware and software for both the machine ECM and the monitor ECM.
