This Program must be administered assoon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10451" as the Partnumber and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim DescriptionCode and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair isdone after failure, use "PI10451" as the Part Number, "7751" as the GroupNumber, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMSDescription Code. Although this program must be administeredas described above, whenever possible the May 1, 2006 Service Letter PS42039is to be implemented at the same time. This Revised Service Letter replacesthe May 2, 2006 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the AffectedProduct.PROBLEM
The 090-9554 Ballstud joints with the engine enclosuredoors and with the hood may fail on certain D8T Track-Type Tractors. Theseballstud joints at both ends of the door damper assembly may loosen orfail. If these ballstud joints loosen or fail, the doors may not be restrainedby the damper assemblies which could result in personal injury or death.AFFECTED PRODUCT

If it has not, it is to be implementedat this time.D8T Engine Enclosure PIP Rework ProcedureNote: Procedure must be performed on boththe right and left side engine enclosure door.1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the offposition. Remove the key.2. Open engine enclosure door3. Secure the door open to prevent any unexpectedmovement of the door.4. Remove the Damper As. (239-3283) from theBallstuds (090-9554) on the hood and the engine enclosure door. A small screwdriver lifting the clipwill release the damper from the ballstud. 5. Remove the ballstuds and washers from theweld nuts on the hoo
