3. Fasten a hoist to guard (1) as shown. Remove the bolts and guard (1) from the support assembly. 4. Put the cover assembly in the "OPEN" position.5. Remove handle (3) and two nuts (2). Disconnect the governor control cable assembly from the support assembly. 6. Disconnect hose assembly (4) from the elbow.7. Remove bolts (5) that hold the two elbows to the radiator.8. Loosen two clamps (6) and remove tube assemblies (7) and the elbows as a unit from the hoses and the radiator. 9. Remove the bolts and clips from tube (7). Remove cable assembly (8) from the shield and guard assemblies. 10. Disconnect wire harness (9). If necessary, use tool (A). 11. Remove the bolts and brace assemblies (12).12. Remove the bolts and guard assemblies (10) and (11). Guard assembly (10) must be removed first and guard assembly (11) must be moved to the right side of the engine (as seen from the rear of the scraper) to be removed from the engine. 13. Remove the bolts and disconnect the clips that hold hose (15) to the bottom of the radiator.14. Remove bolts (13) and disconnect elbow (14) from the bottom of the radiator. 15. Remove the bolts and shield assemblies (16). 16. Fasten nylon strap (17) and a hoist on fan (18). Remove the bolts, fan (18) and the adapter as a unit from the fan drive. The weight of the fan and the adapter is 38 kg (84 lb.). 17. Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist to radiator (19). Remove the sixteen bolts and radiator (19) from the support assembly. The weight of the radiator is 295 kg (650 lb.).Install Radiator
1. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to radiator (1). Put it into position in support assembly (2) as shown. Install the bolts that hold the radiator in position. 2. Fasten nylon strap (3) and a hoist to fan (4). Install fan (4) and the adapter as a unit on the fan drive. 3. Install shield assemblies (5) and the baffles on the radiator as shown. Tighten the bolts that hold the baffles to a torque of 27 7 N m (20 5 lb.ft.). 4. Install the gasket and connect elbow (6) to the bottom of the radiator.5. Connect the clips that hold hose (7) to the bottom of the radiator. 6. Put guard assemblies (8) and (9) in position as shown, and install the bolts that hold them. Make sure guard assembly (9) is installed first.7. Put brace assemblies (10) on the radiator and the engine support rails as shown. Install the bolts that hold the brace assemblies in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 250 15 N m (184 11 lb.ft.). 8. Connect wire harness (11). If necessary, use tool (B). 9. Connect tube (13) and cable assembly (12) to the shield assemblies and guard assemblies. 10. Install the gaskets, tube assemblies (15) and the elbows as a unit on the radiator. Tighten clamps (16) on the hoses.11. Connect hose assembly (14) on the elbow. 12. Put the governor control cable assembly in position in the support assembly and install nuts (18), (17) and handle (19). With the governor in the "OFF" position, the distance between nut (17) and the cable housing must be 3 1 mm (.118 .039 in.). Tighten nut (17) to a torque of 22 4 N m (16 3 lb.ft.).13. Put the cover assembly in the "CLOSED" position. 14. Fasten a hoist to guard (20) and install it on the support assembly.15. Fasten a hoist to the rear hood and install it on the radiator.16. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
