Attach a DO NOT OPERATE or similar warning tag to start switch or controls before performing maintenance or repairing the engine. These tags, SEHS7332, are available from your Caterpillar dealer. When appropriate, attach tags at the engine and at each operator's position and disconnect starting controls. Do not allow unauthorized personnel on or around the engine when it is being serviced.Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may be harmful to your health. Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.Use caution when removing cover plates. Gradually loosen (do not remove) the last two bolts or nuts located at opposite ends of the cover or device. Pry cover loose to relieve any spring or other pressure, before removing the last bolts or nuts.Use caution when removing vent release valve, grease fittings, pressure taps, breathers or drain plugs.
