Information:
start by: a) remove alternator1. Turn the valve for the fuel supply to the "OFF" position. 2. Remove fuel filter (6) with tool (A).3. Disconnect rod (3) from the governor control lever.4. Disconnect line (1) from the fuel ratio control.5. Disconnect the main fuel line from the fuel filter base.6. Disconnect six fuel injection lines (2) from the fuel injection pumps.
Put protective caps over the pumps and fuel injection lines to keep dirt out of the fuel system.
7. Remove bolt (5). Remove timing pin (4).8. Disconnect the overflow tube from the fuel injection pump housing. 9. Remove plug (7) from the flywheel housing.10. Put the No. 1 piston at top center compression as follows: a) Turn the crankshaft clockwise (as seen from the front of the engine) until tool (B) can be installed through the timing hole in the flywheel housing and into the hole in the flywheel. Never turn the crankshaft backward to install the bolt in the flywheel.b) Disconnect the breather from the valve cover. The rocker arms can be seen through the breather hole for the No. 1 piston.c) Check to see if both rocker arms for the No. 1 piston can be moved backward and forward by hand through the breather hole. The No. 1 piston is at the top center compression position when the bolt is installed in the flywheel and both rocker arms for No. piston can be moved backward and forward.d) If both rocker arms can not be moved, the No. 1 piston is not at the top center compression position. Remove the bolt from the flywheel. Turn the crankshaft clockwise (as seen from from the front of the engine) one full turn (360°) and install the bolt again.11. Remove the cover from over the drive gear for the fuel injection pump housing. Remove the bolt and the washer from the gear. 12. Remove drive gear (8) from the end of the camshaft for the fuel injection pump housing with tool (C). 13. Install timing pin (4) in the groove (slot) in the fuel injection pump camshaft. Fasten a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing.14. Remove the three nuts and the washers that hold the fuel injection pump housing to the studs in the timing gear plate. Remove the bolts that hold bracket (10) to the fuel injection pump housing. Remove fuel injection pump housing and governor (9). Weight is 50 lb. (23 kg).Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
1. Put fuel injection pump housing and governor (1) in position on the engine and against the timing gear plate.2. Install the three nuts and washers that hold the fuel injection pump housing to the timing gear plate.3. Install the two bolts and washers that hold the governor housing to bracket (2). 4. Put drive gear (3) in position on the end of the camshaft for the fuel injection pump housing. Install washer and bolt (4). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 110 5 lb.ft. (149.1 6.8 N m).5. Install the cover over the drive gear.6. Remove tool (A) from the flywheel housing and install the plug. Remove the timing pin from the cover on the fuel injection pump housing.7. Connect the overflow line to the fuel injection pump housing. 8. Connect line (5) to the fuel ratio control.9. Connect fuel line (7) to the fuel filter base.10. Connect fuel injection lines (6) to the fuel injection pumps. Tighten the nuts on the lines to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40.7 6.8 N m) with tool (B).11. Connect rod (8) to the lever for the governor control.12. Install a new fuel filter (9). Follow the instructions on the filter for the correct installation procedure.13. Turn the valve for the fuel supply to the "ON" position.end by: a) install alternator
