Diagnostic Codes
J1939 Code and Description CDL Code and Description Comments
100-13
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor : Out of Calibration 100-13
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor : Out of Calibration The engine oil pressure sensor indicated an engine oil pressure greater than +/- 54 kPa (8 psi) from the atmospheric pressure sensor.
Reference sensor : Atmospheric Pressure Sensor
101-13
Engine Crankcase Pressure : Out of Calibration 101-13
Crankcase Air Pressure Sensor : Out of Calibration During key on, the signal voltage from the crankcase air pressure sensor indicated a crankcase air pressure greater than +/- 1.5 kPa (0.2 psi).
There is not a reference sensor for this sensor
108-13
Barometric Pressure : Out of Calibration 274-13
Atmospheric Pressure Sensor : Out of Calibration During key on, the signal voltage from the atmospheric pressure sensor indicated an atmospheric pressure other than 0 kPa (0 psi).
This sensor is used as a reference sensor
3563-13
Engine Intake Manifold #1 Absolute Pressure : Out of Calibration 1785-13
Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor : Out of Calibration The Intake Manifold pressure sensor indicated an Intake Manifold pressure greater than +/- 18 kPa (3 psi) from the Atmospheric Pressure sensor.
Reference sensor : Atmospheric Pressure Sensor
5578-13
Engine Fuel Delivery Absolute Pressure : Out of Calibration 289-13
Fuel Pressure Sensor - Before Fuel Filter : Out of Calibration The unfiltered fuel pressure sensor (absolute) indicated a fuel pressure greater than +/- 67 kPa (10 psi) from the fuel outlet pressure sensor.
Reference sensor : Fuel Pressure Sensor - After Fuel Filter
5580-13
Engine Filtered Fuel Delivery Absolute Pressure : Out of Calibration 460-13
Fuel Pressure Sensor - After Fuel Filter : Out of Calibration During key on, the signal voltage from the fuel outlet pressure sensor (after secondary fuel filter) indicated a pressure other than 0 kPa (0 psi) .
This sensor is used as a reference sensor

Troubleshooting Test Steps Values Results
1. Check for Codes
Note: The engine coolant temperature must be greater than 0° C (32° F) before beginning this procedure.
A. Establish communication between Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool and the Electronic Control Module (ECM).
B. Download the "Warranty Report" from the engine ECM before performing any troubleshooting or clearing diagnostic trouble codes.
C. Wait at least 30 seconds in order for the diagnostic codes to become active.
Note: Look for an active -13 code or for a logged -13 code.
Codes
Result: There is an active or there is a logged -13 code.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
2. Check for Debris
A. Turn the keyswitch to OFF.
B. Check the suspect sensor for debris.
C. If applicable, check the reference sensor for debris.
D. Check the sensor measurement port for blockage by debris.
E. If debris is found, clear the debris from the measurement port and replace the suspect sensor.
F. Turn the keyswitch to ON.
G. Check for -13 codes. Wait at least 30 seconds in order for the diagnostic codes to become active.
Note: The 3251-13 will not activate if the ambient temperature is below 7° C (45° F) or an active regen has not been performed. If troubleshooting a 3251-13 and the ambient temperature is below 7° C (45° F), perform a "Manual DPF regeneration". Completing the "Manual DPF regeneration" will verify that the problem has been resolved.
Debris
Result: The sensor measurement port is not blocked by debris.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
Result: A -13 code is not present.
Return the unit to service.
Result: A -13
