Required Tools
Tool    Part Number    Part Description    Qty
A     1U-6396     O-Ring Assembly Compound     1
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring or a gasket. Use Tooling (A) during the assembly procedure.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. All disassembly and all assembly procedures must be performed on a clean work surface and in a clean hydraulic area. Keep cleaned parts covered and protected at all times.Note: Apply a light film of SAE 10W oil to all components before assembly.Note: Only a small number of components within the main control valve are serviced components. A large number of nonserviceable items must be disassembled in order to access the serviced components.

The above photo displays the functional positions of the valves within the main control valve.Note: Place identification marks on the valves. The valves MUST be assembled in the same configuration. Identification marks must not be removed during cleaning.Note: Do not mix components from one valve to another valve. Valve components MUST be returned to the original valve. Assemble only one block assembly at a time. Note: The main control valve will be assembled in the REVERSE order of disassembly.
Assemble bucket block assembly (L), as follows:

Valves (181) and (180 ) contain the following components. Install valve (182) and spring (183). Install O-ring (184) on plug (185). Install plug (185) into bucket block assembly (L) .
Illustration 3 g00836962
Valves (181) and (180) are identical.
Repeat Step 2.a for valve (180) .
Illustration 4 g00836725
Install spool (175) into bucket block assembly (L) .Note: Apply a light film of SAE 10W oil to spool (175) prior to installation.
Install seat (177), spring (178), and seat (179) .
Install O-ring seal (176) onto cap (173) .
Illustration 5 g00836720
Install cap (173) onto bucket block assembly (L) and align .
Align cap (173) with block assembly. Secure cap (173) with bolts (174) .
Repeat Steps 2.e through 2.h for the other side of the valve.

Install O-ring seal (172) on bucket block assembly (L) .
Install any additional nonserviceable components on bucket block assembly (L) that were removed during disassembly.
Assemble boom block assembly (K), as follows:
