Orient the bearing cap correctly. The part number on the bearing cap must face to the right and to the front face of the block. Also, the tab slots that are in the block and the bearing caps must be adjacent.
The bearing caps are marked with identification numbers 1 through 7. Install the bearing caps into the correct positions.
Lubricate the threads and the washer face of the crankshaft main bearing cap bolts with clean engine oil, molylube or an approved equivalent.
Tighten the bolts to 150 5 N m (110 4 lb ft).
Again, tighten the bolts to an additional angle of 60 5 degrees.
