Problem
The idle shutdown timer function allows for the engine to remain running for a selected period of time after the system electrical power is disconnected by turning off the engine start switch key. When the key is removed from the steering column, the steering wheel will lock in one of several detents as a theft deterrent measure. If the steering wheel locking detent and the steering pilot valve centering detent are not properly timed, it is possible that a slight steering input could be initiated with the engine running in the auto-shutdown mode. The engine idle shutdown timer system needs to be disabled.
