This Special Instruction describes the rework procedure to convert "ADEM 3" to "ADEM 4" Electronic Control Module (ECM) on G3606 gas engines. The ADEM 4 electronic control improves performance and reliability by integrating the following functions:
Speed control
Air/Fuel ratio control
Ignition/Detonation controlThe ADEM A4 has following improved functionalities:
User interface
Display system
Shutdown control

Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR4259, "G3606 and G3608 Engines" for missing procedures. This Special Instruction assumes that you will be starting for an engine that will have crankshaft, liners, front and rear gear trains, flywheel, damper group, front and rear housings, oil pan and etc. already installed.Safety Section
