Parameter Descriptions
"Rating Number"
"Rating Number" is a reference number that corresponds to the rating map that is resident in the personality module (flash file). Flash files may contain more that one rating."Equipment ID"
The "Equipment ID" parameter allows the customer to enter a description into the ECM in order to identify the machine. A maximum of 17 characters can be entered in the field."Engine Serial Number"
The "Engine Serial Number" should be programmed to match the engine serial number that is stamped on the engine information plate. The engine serial number is not preprogrammed on a replacement ECM."FLS" (Full Load Setting)
"FLS" is a number that represents the adjustment to the fuel system that was made at the factory in order to fine tune the fuel system. The correct value for this parameter is stamped on the engine information ratings plate. This value should only be changed if the engine is rerated or a new ECM is installed. Factory passwords are required."FTS" (Full Torque Setting)
"FTS" is similar to "FLS". This value should only be changed if the engine is rerated or a new ECM is installed. Factory passwords are required."Engine Oil Weight"
Setting this parameter to the correct oil grade that is in the engine will aid in cold weather starting. Do not program this parameter to "Automatic Detection"."Idle Quality Adjustment"
This parameter is used to fine tune the idle quality of the engine."Number of Available Engine Power Levels"
The "Number of Available Engine Power Levels" parameter is programmed at the factory to enable the use of variable power levels. Factory passwords are required."Battery Elevated Idle"
The "Battery Elevated Idle" parameter allows the operation of this feature to be enabled or disabled. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Elevated Idle" for more information.Parameter Table

Note: Compare the FLS and the FTS from the ECM with the values that are listed on the Engine Information Plate. The FLS and the FTS should only be changed because of a mechanical change in the engine. The use of the wrong parameters could cause damage to the engine. The use of the wrong parameters may also void the Caterpillar warranty.
