Diagnostic Trouble Codes for the Circuits for the Solenoids in the High Pressure Fuel Pump
J1939 Code    Description    Information
1347-5     Engine Fuel Pump Pressurizing Assembly #1 : Current 2elow Normal     Current flow through the circuit for the solenoid is below the acceptable value. A snapshot is taken. The code is logged. The engine may shut down due to low fuel pressure. This code is disabled while the engine is cranking. The engine may not start due to low fuel pressure. The ECM will continue to fire the solenoid. If the ECM detects acceptable current flow during five successive attempts to fire the solenoid, the active code is cleared.
1348-5     Engine Fuel Pump Pressurizing Assembly #2 : Current Below Normal
1347-6     Engine Fuel Pump Pressurizing Assembly #1 : Current Above Normal     Current flow through the circuit for the solenoid is above the acceptable value.
1348-6     Engine Fuel Pump Pressurizing Assembly #2 : Current Above Normal    Note: The automatic cylinder cutout test is disabled while any of these codes are active.Automatic Configuration of the Solenoid DriversThe connectors for the solenoids are interchangeable. The ECM determines the connector that is connected to each solenoid during each engine start cycle. For this reason, you must determine the configuration of the wiring before you troubleshoot the system. This process is explained in the troubleshooting steps within this procedure.

Information for the high pressure fuel pump's electrical circuitsTest Step 1. Inspect the Electrical ConnectorsNote: Carefully following this procedure is a good way to identify an intermittent problem.
Perform a visual inspection of the wiring between the high pressure fuel pump and the ECM. Look for the following problems:
Harness damage that is caused by chafing
Harness damage that is caused by excessive heat
Inspect the wiring and the connectors at the high pressure fuel pump:
Look for moisture on the wiring and on the connectors.
Pull on each wire. This test verifies that the wire is properly crimped to the terminal and that the terminal is properly inserted into the connector.
Inspect the P2 connector:
Look for moisture on the wiring and on the connector.
Pull on each wire. This verifies that the wire is properly crimped to the terminal and that the terminal is properly inserted into the connector.Expected Result:There is a problem with the wiring or with a connector. Results:
Yes - There is a problem with the wiring or with a connector.Repair: Clean the connectors, if necessary. Replace parts, if necessary. Verify that the problem is resolved.STOP
No - The wiring and the connectors are OK. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. Determine the Configuration of the WiringNote: Proceed to the next test step when you have determined the configuration of the wiring.
Perform the following procedure if the diagnostic code is 1348-5 or 1348-6.
Disconnect the harness connector for solenoid 1.
Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and P2-77. The configuration of the wiring is according to Table 2 if the resistance measurement indicates continuity. Continue with this procedure if the resistance measurement indicates an open circuit.

Perform the following procedure if the diagnostic code is 1347-5 or 1347-6.
Disconnect the harness connector for solenoid 2.
Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and P2-61. The configuration of the wiring is according to Table 4 if the resistance measurement indicates continuity. Continue with this procedure if the resistance measurement indicates an open circuit.
