Information:
preparatory steps: a) remove radiator core, hydraulic oil cooler core and guard as a unit1. Drain engine crankcase-capacity 18 3/4 U.S. gal. (72 liter). Drain transmission-capacity 42 U.S. gal. (158 liter).2. Disconnect the torque converter oil cooler oil inlet and oil outlet lines at the oil cooler core. Remove water pump-to-radiator elbow. 3. Disconnect the primary fuel filter fuel inlet line (3) and outlet line (4). Disconnect the fuel pressure line (1) at connection located along the frame.4. Disconnect alternator wires (2) and water temperature sending unit located on the water temperature regulator housing.5. Remove the oil level gauge and gauge housing. Remove the oil filler pipe. 6. Disconnect engine oil pressure line (5).7. Disconnect torque converter temperature sending unit, all torque converter charging valve oil lines.8. Disconnect both ether aid lines (6) at the connection located by the machine frame.9. Remove muffler-to-air cleaner pipe. Loosen one hose clamp on the turbocharger air inlet hose (left side of machine). 10. Disconnect all necessary wires (8) from starters and solenoids. Remove fumes disposal vent tube (7).11. Remove muffler-to-air cleaner tube. Loosen one hose clamp on the turbocharger air inlet hose (right side of machine). 12. Disconnect governor linkage (9). Disconnect the glow plug wire and the wires from the brake warning alarm sensing unit.13. Disconnect the torque converter lubrication line located on the left side of torque converter (right side of machine).14. Disconnect drive shaft (10) located between the power take off group and pump drive group.15. Disconnect the torque converter output shaft.16. Remove the oil drain manifold located between the torque converter and frame on the left side of machine.17. Remove both muffler-to-exhaust pipe elbows. Attach a hoist and lifting beam (A). 18. Remove four engine front retaining bolts and nuts (11). Remove four engine rear mounting bracket-to-frame mounting bolts. Raise the engine and remove right rear retaining bracket. Remove engine, power take-off and torque converter as a unit-weight 8,300 lbs. (3,764.80 kg).Install Engine, Power Take-Off And Torque Converter As A Unit
1. Attach a hoist and position engine, power take-off and torque converter as a unit in the machine. Install the right rear mounting bracket. Lower the engine into place and install all engine retaining bolts and nuts. 2. Install oil drain manifold (1) and connect the torque converter output shaft.3. Connect the power take-off drive shaft.4. Connect torque converter lubrication line located on the left side of torque converter (right side of machine).5. Install both muffler-to-exhaust pipe elbows.6. Connect the glow plug wire and wires to the brake warning alarm sensing unit.7. Install fumes disposal vent tube and connect the governor linkage. 8. Tighten hose clamp on the turbocharger air inlet hose (right side of machine). Install muffler-to-air cleaner tube.9. Connect all starter and solenoids wires.10. Tighten turbocharger air inlet hose clamp and install the muffler-to-air cleaner pipe (left side of machine).11. Connect both ether aid lines.12. Connect engine oil pressure line.13. Connect torque converter charging valve oil lines and temperature sending unit.14. Install oil filler pipe (4) oil gauge housing (3), and oil level gauge.15. Connect water temperature sending unit and alternator wire.16. Connect the fuel pressure line, fuel inlet line and fuel outlet line.17. Install water pump-to-radiator elbow. Connect the torque converter oil cooler oil inlet and oil outlet lines (2).18. Fill the transmission and crankcase.concluding step: a) install radiator core, hydraulic oil cooler and guard as a unit
