Remove plate (9), gasket, cover assembly (8), strainer assembly and gasket from the governor housing. 6. Remove bolt (11) from stop collar (10). Remove stop collar (10) and spring (12) from the governor bolt. 7. Remove bolts (14) that hold governor housing (13) in place. Remove governor housing (13) and gasket from the governor plate. Make sure the racks are in center (zero) position before the governor and governor plate is removed as a unit. 8. Remove bolts (15) that hold the governor plate in place. Remove the governor and governor plate (16) as a unit. Remove the gasket.Install Governor
The drive assembly must be removed from the governor plate before the governor plate is installed for correct alignment. The drive assembly can be damaged if it is installed with the governor plate and is not in alignment with the drive pinion assembly.
1. Put a new gasket in position on the fuel injection pump housing. The racks must be held against timing pin (A) and the governor lever engaged in the groove (slot) in the left hand rack.2. Put governor plate (1) in position on the fuel pump housing. Make sure the dowels in governor plate (1) are in alignment with the holes in the injection pump housing. 3. Install stop (3) in gear (4). Make sure the wide space is in alignment with the notch in the end of the drive pinion assembly.4. Install drive assembly (2), with the groove (slot) in the bottom end of the drive in alignment with the notch in the drive pinion. 5. Make an alignment of the holes in gear (4), the stop and drive assembly. Install pin (6) and ring (5) that holds it in place. 6. Install a new gasket and governor housing (7) on the governor plate. 7. Install spring (8) and stop collar (9) on the governor bolt. Install the bolt in collar (9), but do not tighten. Lift up on stop collar (9) toward the fuel off position and tighten the bolt in the stop collar to prevent possible movement during operation.8. Check the fuel rack setting. See FUEL RACK SETTING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING. The screen side of the strainer assembly must be down toward the governor housing. 9. Put a new gasket, the strainer assembly and cover assembly (11) in position on governor housing (7). Make sure the dowel in plate (10) is in alignment with the notch in stop collar (9).10. Put a new gasket and plate (10) in position on cover assembly (11). Install the bolts that hold plate (10) and cover assembly (11). 11. Install a new gasket and cover (12) on the cover assembly. 12. Connect two fuel lines (13) to the governor plate.13. Remove tool (A) from the fuel injection pump housing (14). 14. Install plug (18) and seal.15. Make a connection of governor control cable (16) and lever (15). Install pin (17) and the cotter pin.16. After the fuel ratio control and fuel shutoff solenoid are installed, check the governor adjustment. See GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.end by:a) install fuel shutoff solenoidb) install fuel ratio controlDisassemble Governor
