Introduction
This Special Instruction contains the information required to relocate the engine to machine harness connector on certain D7E Track-Type Tractors. The connector will be raised to prevent the connector from being submerged in water and/or mud.Safety
Do not attempt to disassemble or assemble this machine until you read and understand the disassembly and assembly instructions. Improper disassembly and assembly procedures could result in injury or death.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Do not allow any dirt or foreign material to get into the hydraulic system during assembly, connection of lines, when components are filled with fluid, or during any maintenance operation.
Maintain the oil in the hydraulic system at the correct level to prevent pump cavitation.

Remove rear and middle hinged bottom guard.

From top of machine, locate machine harness (12) bulkhead connector behind front right cab tilt mount. Disconnect front connector from bulkhead. Follow harness downward, removing tie straps as far as can be reached.

From underneath machine, locate machine harness (12) and continue to remove tie straps until reaching the engine harness (13) and machine harness (12) connectors located to the rear of the crossbeam on the right-hand frame rail.
Remove engine harness (13) and machine harness (12) connectors from clip and separate connector halves. Repair or replace damaged components if necessary.
Remove connector clip from mounting block. Retain connector clip and mounting hardware.
Remove engine harness tie strap mount located on crossbeam in front of connector clip mounting block. Retain mount and washer and discard bolt.
Remove lower engine harness tie strap ladder clip connected to generator. Retain ladder clip and reinstall hardware into generator.
From connector clip mounting block, follow machine harness (12) forward. Remove tie straps from six weld links (up to front cross beam) and separate machine harness (12) from existing harnesses. Pull machine harness (12) forward to begin new routing. Using tie straps (3) , reconnect existing harnesses to weld links, stoppin
