Diagnostic Codes
J1939 Code and Description Conditions which Generate this Code System Response
3563-13 Engine Intake Manifold #1 Absolute Pressure : Out of Calibration During the last calibration attempt, a problem has been detected. The code is logged.
During a manual calibration, the pressure offset value is set to 0 kPa (0 psi).
During an automatic calibration, the pressure offset value is set to the previous calibration value.
5422-13 Engine Intake Manifold #2 Absolute Pressure : Out of Calibration During the last calibration attempt, a problem has been detected. The code is logged.
During a manual calibration, the pressure offset value is set to 0 kPa (0 psi).
During an automatic calibration, the pressure offset value is set to the previous calibration value.
101-13 Engine Crankcase Pressure : Out of Calibration During the last calibration attempt, a problem has been detected. The code is logged.
During a manual calibration, the pressure offset value is set to 0 kPa (0 psi).
During an automatic calibration, the pressure offset value is set to the previous calibration value. The Electronic Control Module (ECM) attempts to perform an automatic calibration of all pressure sensors whenever the ECM is powered. The engine must have been off for at least ten seconds. Cranking the engine during the first ten seconds causes the ECM to abort the calibration attempt.During an automatic pressure sensor calibration, the ECM checks all pressure sensors against an acceptable range. If any pressure sensor reading is outside the acceptable range, the previous calibration value is used. The ECM then calibrates all pressure sensors against the atmospheric pressure sensor.A pressure sensor calibration will not be successful if there are active sensor diagnostic codes with an FMI of 03 and/or 04. Check for active diagnostic codes and/or for logged diagnostic codes. Troubleshoot any diagnostic codes that are present before continuing with this procedure.A pressure sensor calibration will not be successful if one of the following conditions exist:
The pressure reading is outside of an acceptable range.
The pressure reading varies significantly during calibration.

Calibration Tolerances for Pressure Sensors

101-13 Atmospheric pressure sensor 0 kPa (0 psi) 0 kPa (0 psi) 15 kPa (2.2 psi) −20 kPa (−2.9 psi) 20 kPa (2.9 psi)

Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to check for calibration codes that are active or logged.Perform the following procedure in order to troubleshoot active calibration codes:
Inspect the connector of the suspect sensor. Verify that no moisture or corrosion is present in the connector assembly. Thoroughly inspect the connector seal for damage. Reconnect the connector.
Monitor the status parameter for the suspect sensor on Cat ET. Wiggle the wiring at the suspect sensor connector. While you wiggle the wiring, check that the value of the status parameter remains steady during the test.If the value of the status parameter does not remain steady during the test, perform the necessary repairs to the wiring and/or the sensor connector.Verify that the problem is resolved. If the value of the status parameter remains steady during the test, use Cat ET to check for an active calibration code. If the code is active, replace the suspect sensor.Verify that the problem is resolved.
