1353 PI30125 This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI30125" as the Part number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI30125" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
A 1899827 Channel needs to be installed on certain 3516B Power Modules. The channel is part of the 1901328 Baffle Group and is used to prevent engine exhaust from re-circulating through the radiator.
Re-circulation inhibits the radiator from realizing its full cooling capability, which is necessary to meet emissions compliance.

Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated December 17, 2000 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
To carry out this repair, the power module does not need to be disconnected from the power system. However, take all necessary precautions and observe all safety rules as identified in the operations manual.
Turn the control switch to off/reset position and perform other necessary lockouts to prevent the engine from starting.
Open the power module front doors (radiator end).
Measure 72 inches (1829 mm) from the bottom of the door, and make marks on the inside of the door channels. This will locate the bottom of the 1899827 Channel.
