Start By:a. remove floor plate The following illustrations are of a D9L but the procedure is the same for a D10N.1. Turn the handle on the fuel supply valve to the "OFF" position. The location of the valve is on the bottom of the fuel tank. 2. Disconnect fuel lines (2) from the back of the firewall. Put caps and plugs in the openings to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system.3. Disconnect control linkage (1) from the governor control shaft and lever (3). Pull control linkage (1) out of the firewall.4. Make sure the weight of the ripper and bulldozer blade is lowered to the ground.5. Slowly loosen the cap on the hydraulic tank to release the pressure in the tank. Remove the plug from the drain valve on the bottom of the tank and install a 1 in. NPT × 6 in. long pipe nipple to drain the hydraulic oil from the tank. The capacity of the hydraulic tank is 83 liter (22 U.S. gal.). 6. Disconnect elbow (4), pressure control valve (5) and hose assembly (7) from implement pump (6). 7. Remove bolt (8) that holds the hose clips in position.8. Remove the four bolts and guard (10) from over the alternator and air conditioner compressor vee belts.9. Remove the top half of guard (9) from over the power train oil pump drive shaft. 10. Remove the bolts and drive shaft (11) from the machine.11. Remove the lower half of guard (9) from the machine. 12. Install a 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolt in the top of the cab (inside). Fasten tooling (A) to the eyebolt and implement pump (6).13. Remove the bolts and remove implement pump (6) from the pump drive. The weight of implement pump (6) is 59 kg (130 lb.).14. Pull cover (16) and the yoke out of the pump drive.15. Remove plate assemblies (14) and (17) from each side of the machine.16. Remove the bolts that hold plate (12). Slide plate (12) up off grommet (15). Remove plate (12) and grommet (15) from the fuel lines and firewall.17. Remove firewall (13) from the back of the engine. 18. Remove the remainder of bolts that hold pump drives (18) and (19). Fasten tool (A) to the pump drives with tool (B). Pull the pump drives and O-ring seals out of the flywheel housing and remove them. The weight of each pump drive is 29 kg (65 lb.). The following steps are for the installation of the pump drives.19. Install a 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolt in the top of the cab (inside). Fasten tooling (A) to the forged eyebolt.20. Make sure the O-ring seals are installed around pump drives (18) and (19) and put clean engine oil on them. Fasten tooling (A) to pump drives (18) and (19) with tool (B) and install them in the flywheel housing.21. Put firewall (13) in position and install the bolts to hold it and the pump drives.22. Put grommet (15) in position. Slide plate (12) over grommet (15) and install the bolts.23. Install plates (14) and (17) on each side of the machine.24. Make sure the O-ring seal has clean engine oil on it and install the cover (16) and the yoke in the pump drive for the power train oil pump.25. Install a 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolt in the top of the cab (inside). Fasten tooling (A) to the forged eyebolt and implement pump (6).26. Make sure the O-ring seal is installed around the end of implement pump (6). Put clean hydraulic oil on the O-ring seal.27. Lower implement pump (6) into position and install it in the pump drive. Install the bolts and washers to hold implement pump (6) in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 205 27 N m (150 20 lb.ft.).28. Install the lower half of guard (9) and drive shaft (11).29. Install the top half of guard (9) over the pump drive shaft.30. Install guard (10) over the alternator and air conditioner compressor vee belts. Install bolt (8) to hold the hose clips to guard (10).31. Make sure the O-ring seal is installed in the end of hose assembly (7) and put clean hydraulic oil on it.32. Put hose assembly (7) in position and install the flanges and bolts to hold it to the implement pump. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 205 27 N m (150 20 lb.ft.).33. Make sure the O-ring seals are installed in the ends of pressure control valve (5) and elbow (4). Put clean hydraulic oil on the O-ring seals. Fill the implement pump with clean hydraulic oil before elbow (4) is connected to it.34. Install the bolts to connect pressure control valve (5) and elbow (4) to implement pump (6).35. Fill the hydraulic system with oil to the correct level.36. Put control linkage (1) in position and connect it to the governor control shaft and lever (3).37. Connect fuel lines (2) and turn the fuel supply to the engine on. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.End By:a. install floor plateDisassemble And Assemble Pump Drives
Start By:a. remove pump drives 1. Remove yoke (1) from cover (2). 2. Remove O-ring seal (4) from cover (2).3. Remove lip type seal (3) from cover (2). 4. Remove bolts (5) and retainer (6) from the gear. 5. Use a press and tool (A) to push the gear out of adapter (7). Remove the bearing cone from adapter (7). 6. Remove spacer (8) and bearing cone (9) from gear (10). The bearing cone will have damage after removal. Use new parts for replacement. 7. Remove O-ring seal (13) from adapter (7).8. Remove the bolts and retainer (11) from adapter (7).9. Remove bearing cup (12) from adapter (7). The following steps are for the assembly of the pump drives.10. Use a press and install bearing cup (12) in adapter (7).11. Install O-ring seal (13) on adapter (7).12. Install retainer (11) and the bolts on adapter
