3. Disconnect linkage (3) from the governor.4. Remove breather tube (2) from the machine.5. Remove fuel injection lines (1) from the fuel injection pumps and valves.
Put protection caps (5F2807) and plugs (2F2990) on the fuel injection pumps, valves and lines to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system.
6. Remove all of bolts (4) and (5) that hold the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position. 7. Remove the fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unit from the machine.Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
1. Make sure the No. 1 piston is on the TOP CENTER COMPRESSION POSITION for correct timing of the engine as follows: a) Remove the valve cover from the cylinder head.b) Remove the electric starting motor and timing hole plug from the front of the flywheel housing.c) Use tool group (C) to turn the crankshaft clockwise, as seen from the front of the engine. Turn the crankshaft until a 3/8"-16 NC bolt can be installed in the flywheel through the hole in the flywheel housing and the intake and exhaust valves for the No. 1 piston are closed. 2. Install tool (A) on the rear face of the accessory drive housing.3. If tool (A) can be installed with the dowels in the accessory drive housing in alignment with the dowel holes in tool (A), the accessory drive shaft is in correct timing. Go to Step 8. If tool (A) can not be installed, go to Step 4.4. Remove the small cover from the front of the timing gear cover. Remove the nut and washer that hold the drive gear to the accessory drive shaft. 5. Use tooling (B) to make a separation of the drive gear from the accessory drive shaft. Turn the accessory drive shaft until tool (A) can be installed.6. Install the washer (with the outside diameter of the washer in contact with the gear) and the nut to hold the drive gear to the accessory drive shaft. Tighten the nut to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m). 7. Install the cover and gasket on the front of the timing gear cover. Remove tool (A) from the accessory drive housing.8. Remove tool (A) and install the gasket on the accessory drive housing. Install the O-ring seals in the bracket that the fuel injection pump housing is installed on. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals. 9. Put the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position as a unit. Make sure the end of the accessory drive shaft is engaged in the groove (slot) in the fuel injection pump camshaft. Install all of bolts (4) and (5) to hold the fuel injection pump housing and governor in position.10. Remove all caps and plugs from the fuel lines and openings. Install fuel injection lines (1) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 30 5 lb.ft. (40 7 N m).11. Install breather tube (2).12. Connect control linkage (3) to the governor.13. Install the panel assembly on the left side of the machine.14. Turn the fuel valve at the bottom of the fuel tank to the "ON" position.15. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
