Information:
3. Fasten a hoist to fan assembly (1). Remove the bolts that hold the fan assembly to the fan drive. Lower the fan assembly to put it in position against the hydraulic oil cooler core. Weight of the fan assembly is 43 kg (95 lb.).
Do not cause damage to the hydraulic oil cooler core when the fan assembly is put in position against it.
4. Remove the three belts (2) from the fan drive.5. Disconnect the spring from the belt tightener. 6. Remove the two bolts and retainer that hold hub (3) in position.7. Hold pulley (4) in position and remove hub (3), then remove pulley (4). 8. Remove spacer (9) from the fan drive bracket.9. Remove the O-ring seal, bearings (5) and (7), spacer (6) and seal (8) from hub (3). 10. Remove the belt tigthener from the fan drive bracket.11. Disconnect grease line (12) from the fan drive bracket.12. Remove bolts (10) and remove fan drive bracket (11). 13. Remove the spring and grease fitting from fan drive bracket (11).14. Remove the dowels that hold shafts (13) and (14) in position. Use a press and remove the shafts from the fan drive bracket.Install Fan Drive
1. Put the dowel holes in shafts (1) and (2) in alignment with the holes in fan drive bracket (3). Make sure the larger diameter hole in shaft (1) is opposite the threaded hole in bracket (3). Use a press and install the shafts in bracket (3).2. Install the dowels to hold shafts (1) and (2) in position. 3. Install the grease fitting and spring on bracket (3). Make sure nut (4) is tightened to a torque of 43 7 N m (32 5 lb.ft.).4. Put bracket (3) in position on the engine and install the bolts to hold it in position.5. Connect the grease line to bracket (3).6. Install the belt tightener on the fan drive bracket. Install the bolt and washer to hold the belt tightener in position. 7. Use tool (A) to install the seal even with the end of hub (5) with the lip of the seal toward the outside as shown.8. Install the smaller bearing in hub (5). 9. Install spacer (6) on the fan drive bracket with the chamfer toward the radiator. 10. Install pulley (7) on the fan drive bracket.11. Hold pulley (7) in position and install the hub and inner bearing on the fan drive bracket. 12. Install spacer (8), outer bearing (9) and the O-ring seal on the fan drive bracket.13. Install the retainer and two bolts that hold the bearings and hub to the fan drive bracket.14. Connect the spring to the belt tightener.15. Install the three belts on the fan drive. Use a belt tension gauge such as a Borroughs Tool Company Part No. BT-33-72C or an equivalent and make an adjustment of vee belts. Measure the belt farthest from the engine. Tighten the new belts until gauge indication is 120 5 lb.ft. (534 22 N). Operate the engine at high idle for a minimum of 30 minutes after Step 19. Make another adjustment of the belt tension. The correct gauge indication for a used belt is 90 10 lb. (400 44 N). Tighten the adjustment nut on the belt tightener to a torque of 43 7 N m (32 5 lb.ft.).16. Use a hoist and lift fan assembly (10) into position. Install the bolts and nuts to hold the fan assembly to the fan drive. 17. Install fan guards (11).18. Install the channel assembly in the top of the radiator guard.19. Put clean grease in the fan drive and belt tightener.
