1. Disconnect tube (1) from fuel ratio control (3).2. Remove two bolts (2) that hold the fuel ratio control to the governor.3. Disengage the shaft on the fuel ratio control from the lever in the governor. Remove fuel ratio control (3).4. To install the fuel ratio control, engage the fuel ratio control shaft in the lever inside the governor.5. Install bolts (2) and connect tube (1).Disassemble Fuel Ratio Control (Earlier)
Start By:a. remove fuel ratio control 1. Remove bolts (2) which hold cover (1) to housing (3). Be careful when bolts (2) are removed because cover (1) is under spring force. 2. Make a separation of the components of the fuel ratio control: cover (1), spring (4), valve (5), spring (6), retainer (7), spring (8), valve assembly (9) and housing (3). 3. Make a separation of the covers (1). 4. Remove nut (11) and stop (10) from the cover. 5. Remove nut (12) and make a separation of nut (12), washer (13), retainer (14), diaphragm (15), valve extension (17), spring (16) and valve (18). 6. Use tooling (A) to remove snap ring (19).7. Remove piston (20) from valve (18). 8. Remove seal (21) from piston (20).9. Inspect all parts and make replacements if necessary.Assemble Fuel Ratio Control (Earlier)
1. Put seal (21) on piston (20). Install the seal so the lip is toward the direction of the center of piston (20). 2. Put piston (20) on valve assembly (18).3. Use tooling (A) to put the snap ring (19) in position. 4. Put O-ring seal (22) in position on valve extension (17).5. Put diaphragm (15) on retainer (14). The outer lip of the diaphragm must be toward the hole with thread.6. Put engine oil on the seal (22) on valve extension (17) and put valve extension (17) into retainer (14). Install washer (13) and nut (12).7. Put spring (16) into valve extension (17) and engage internal valve (18) with hook on the valve extension (17).8. Put washer (23) on diaphragm (15). The flat side of washer (23) must be in contact with diaphragm (15). 9. Put stop (10) in cover (1). Put nut (11) on stop (10).10. Make a replacement of the gasket on cover (24). Put cover (24) on cover (1) and install the bolts which hold the covers together. 11. Put engine oil on the seal on valve assembly (9) and put valve assembly (9) into housing (3).12. Put spring (8) on valve assembly (9).13. Engage retainer (7) with spring (8). Put spring (6) into retainer (7).14. Put engine oil on valve (5) and put retainer (14) into housing (3). Engage internal valve (5) into valve assembly (9).15. Put spring (4) into the open face of the washer behind the diaphragm. 16. Put cover (1) against housing (3). Make sure the ring on the diaphragm is engaged with the groove in cover (1). Install bolts (2). Before installing the fuel ratio control, make adjustments according to Fuel Injection Test Bench, Special Instruction, Form No. SEHS7465-01.End By:a. install fuel ratio controlDisassemble And Assemble Fuel Ratio Control (Later)
Start By:a. remove fuel ratio control 1. Put tooling (A) in a vise so that the station (hole) being used is not over the vise jaw. Place the fuel ratio control over the pins in tooling (A). Remove bolts (3), and remove cover (24) and gasket (23).
There is spring force behind cover (6). Hold cover (6) in position, and slowly remove the bolts that hold it to release the spring force.
2. Remove bolts (5). Remove cover (6) from housing (9).3. Remove spring (7), washer (8), and diaphragm (20) from retainer (4). Remove retainer (4) from housing (9).4. Remove nut (2) from extension (18), and remove the extension from retainer (4). Remove valve (15), spring (21), and O-ring seal (22) from the extension.5. Remove spring (19) retainer (17), and spring (16) from housing (9).6. Remove piston (11) and valve assembly (13) from housing (9).7. Use tool (B), and remove snap ring (12) and washer (14) from valve assembly (13). Remove piston (11) from the valve assembly.8. Remove seal (10) from piston (11).9. If necessary, remove the stem portion from valve assembly (13).10. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of all parts that are worn or damaged. The following steps are for the assembly of the fuel ratio control.11. If removed during the disassembly, assemble the stem portion of valve assembly (13) to the valve using 9S3265 Retaining Compound.12. Lubricate seal (10) lightly with the lubricant being sealed. Put seal (10) on piston (11), and put piston (11) on valve assembly (13).13. Put washer (14) in position on valve assembly (13) and use tool (B) to install snap ring (12) on the valve assembly.14. Place housing (9) on tooling (A), and put tool (C) into the bore of the housing. Lubricate tool (C) with clean engine oil.15. Push piston (11) into position with a smooth swift motion. Remove tool (C) from housing (9). Place spring (16), retainer (17), and spring (16) in the housing.16. Put O-ring seal (22) on extension (18). Put spring (21) and valve (15) in position on the extension.17. Lubricate the bore of retainer (4), and O-ring seal (22) with clean engine oil. Install extension (18) in retainer (4). Install nut (2) on the extension.18. Put diaphragm (20), washer (8), and spring (7) in position on retainer (4). Install retainer (4) in housing (9).19. Hold retainer (4) in position, and install cover (6) to housing (9). Install bolts (5) that hold the cover.20. Make a replacement of gasket (23), and install the gasket and cover (24) with bolts (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 6- 12 3 N m (4-9 2 lb.ft.).End By:a. install fuel ratio control
