Status Bar
Illustration 1 g06033666The status bar is at the top of the DCU display screen. The status bar displays engine state (1), alarm status (2), and icons (3).Engine States (1)
The following is a list of the engine state texts that appear in the status bar.Ready - Ready to start.Starting Denied - A shutdown event is active, refer to the alarm list.Start Disabled - Something is preventing start (such as the start disabled switch or a "Ready to Start" condition such as "Starting Air Pressure is Low").Shutdown Stopping - A shutdown event has occurred and the engine is stopping.Shutdown Stopped - A shutdown event has occurred and the engine has stopped.Initial Start Delay - The DCU is verifying that all starting conditions are satisfied.Prelube Manual - The DCU has received a start command from the local operator or the remote panel (RP). The DCU is prelubing the engine.Prelube Automatic - The DCU has received an automatic start command (from the PMS or switch gear). The DCU is prelubing the engine.Cranking Manual - The DCU has received a start command from the local operator or the RP. The DCU is starting the engine.Cranking Automatic - The DCU has received an automatic start command (from the PMS or switch gear). The DCU is starting the engine.Running - The engine is running normally.Safety Running - The DCU has no speed information, but the last known state of the engine was "Running" and the DCU has not received a stop command.Delayed Stop - The engine has received an automatic stop command and is waiting for the "Automatic Stop Delay" to expire. The "Automatic Stop Delay" allows the PMS or switch gear to disconnect breakers.Cooling - The engine is cooling down.Normal Stopping - The engine is stopping normally.Safety Stopping - The DCU has no speed information, but the last known state of the engine was "Running" and the DCU has received a stop command. It will remain in "Safety Stopping" mode until the "Safety Stopping Timer" has elapsed.Stopped - The engine has stopped normally.Alarm Status (2)

(7) ReturnThe alarm list shows all active and/or unacknowledged alarms. Descriptive text, numbers, symbols, and color codes are used to describe each alarm. Select an alarm to expand the entry for more information.Silencing the Buzzer
Pressing the "Alarm List" button to display the alarm list also silences the buzzer. The Alarm List button is the bell on the right side of the DCU, next to the touchscreen. The buzzer will begin again if a new alarm occurs while the alarm list is displayed. Press the "Alarm List" button to silence it and stay in the alarm list.Numbers
A number is displayed along with the alarm. The significance of these numbers is outlined by the following:Zero (0) - ShutdownOne (1) - Derate or alarmTwo (2) - WarningThree (3) - Diagnostic (includes J1939 DM1 messages regardless of the FMI)Color Codes

To acknowledge a single alarm, select the desired alarm in the list and press the "Acknowledge" button once.Filters
The filters help with focused diagnostics. The following are the available filters:Panel Alarms - Only show alarms generated by panels such as DCU, SDU, and RIO.J1939 Diag. - Displays only DM1 alarms from the two J1939 buses.All Alarms - All alarms are shown.Silence All Alarms (Excluding SDU Alarms)
Press and hold the Acknowledge button for one second. The DCU may be configured to acknowledge visible events only. If so, the notification seen in Illustration 5 will be shown.
