When the valve is in the UNLOCK position, current does not flow to the hydraulic lock switch (39). The coil of the disable start relay (36) is de-energized and the start relay (34) will not be activated. When the valve is in the LOCK position, current flows through the hydraulic lock switch. The disable start relay is energized. The start relay is energized when the key start switch (30) is turned to the CRANK position. Current flows from the start relay to the starter motor (44) and the starter solenoid (43). The starter cranks the engine.Note: When the right console and the left console are in the UP position, the control valve for hydraulic activation is in the UNLOCKED position. When either console is in the DOWN position, the control valve for hydraulic activation is in the LOCKED position.Engine Shutdown System
When the key start switch (30) is turned to the OFF position, current stops flowing from the switch to the engine shutoff timer (35) on wire 308-YL. The engine shutdown timer energizes engine shutoff relay (37) by sending power on wire H809-YL. The engine shutoff relay then energizes engine shutdown solenoid (38). The fuel rack is shifted in order to cut off the fuel supply to the engine. The engine shuts down. After 10 seconds, engine shutdown solenoid (38) is de-energized.Engine Shutoff Timer
Engine shutoff timer (35) is activated for 10 seconds after engine is shutoff and key switch (30) is turned to the OFF position. During the 10 seconds, shutoff relay (37) and engine shutdown solenoid (38) are energized. If key switch is turned to the ON position then OFF position, the engine shutoff timer will not reset and remain deactivated. If the key switch is turn to the CRANK position while engine shutoff timer is activated, the timer will reset and reactivate once key switch (30) is turned to the OFF position.
