This special instruction contains information to install new lower fuel filter support bracket on the engines listed above.Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.Safety Section

Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.

Perform the following procedure to install new lower fuel filter support bracket:

Remove lower filter support from oil pan and replace with new lower support bracket, mounted onto the pan rail/block.

(B) 8T-0644 Bolt
(C) 114-9224 Spacer
(1) 198-4766 Hard Washer
Removal of bolts (A) is not required, but loosening may aid in the alignment of lower support.
Remove bolts (B) and spacers (C) from fuel filter bracket. Discard the part.
Remove hard washers (1) and save the part.

Remove bolts (B) and spacers (C) from pan rail. Discard the part.

Install new support assembly (2).
Install bolts (3) and spacers (4) on the pan rail/block. Hand tighten the bolts (3).

Install new support assembly to the upper filter support bracket with bolts (5) and hard washers (1) saved in step 4.
Tighten bolts (5) to 55 N m (41 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (3) to 100 N m (74 lb ft).
