1. Remove cotter pin and pin (2). Disconnect linkage rod (1) from the governor lever.2. Disconnect two clips that hold the fuel filter supply line (3) to the cylinder block and governor housing. Remove fuel line (3) from the filter and transfer pump. Put caps or plugs on all fuel system openings. 3. Remove retainer (6). Disconnect clips (4) from the cylinder block and timing gear plate. Remove fuel line (5) from the filter and fuel injection pump housing.4. Remove bracket (7).5. Disconnect oil line (8) from the oil manifold. 6. Remove the bolts that hold the fuel injection pump housing to the accessory drive. Remove fuel injection pump housing (9) and governor as a unit. 7. Remove oil manifold (10) from the bottom of the fuel injection pump housing.Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
1. Make sure O-ring seals (1) are in position on the oil manifold. Put oil on all the O-ring seals on the oil manifold.2. Install oil manifold (2) on the bottom of the fuel injection pump housing.3. Check the timing of the accessory drive shaft. See INSTALL ACCESSORY DRIVE HOUSING.
Make sure the oil manifold sleeve slides into the fitting in the timing gear plate and oil supply tube (4) slides into the fitting on the oil manifold when the fuel injection housing and governor are installed.
4. Install gasket (5) between the fuel injection pump housing and accessory drive. Put fuel injection pump housing (3) and governor in position on the accessory drive. Make sure the end of the accessory drive shaft is engaged in the groove (slot) in the fuel injection pump camshaft. Install the bolts that hold the fuel injection pump to the accessory drive. 5. Install bracket (9).6. Install fuel line (7) on the filter and fuel injection pump housing. Connect clips (6) to the cylinder block and timing gear plate.7. Install retainer (8).8. Connect oil line (4) to the oil manifold. 9. Put linkage rod (11) in position on the governor control lever. Install pin (12) and cotter pin.10. Install fuel line (13) on the filter and fuel transfer pump. start by:a) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor 1. Remove lever (2) and cover (1) from the governor housing. 2. Remove screw (4) from rack stop collar (3) and remove collar (3). Remove the collar and spring from behind collar (3), if so equipped. 3. Remove bolts (5) that hold the governor housing to the fuel injection pump housing. Remove governor housing (6).4. Remove seat assembly (7) and spring (8). Remove the washer-type spring from the governor bolt and weight assembly.5. Remove bolts (9) and the lock that hold weight assembly (10) to the fuel injection pump housing. 6. Pull weight assembly (10) straight back to remove it from the dowels in the pump housing.7. Move the weight assembly (10) to the side to remove it from rack (11).Connection Of Governor To Fuel Injection Pump Housing
1. Put cylinder and weights (1) on the pump housing with the groove (slot) in the piston over the end of rack (2).2. Push weight assembly (1) on to the dowels in the pump housing and install lock and bolts (5). 3. Install the washer spring, governor spring (6) and seat (4). Install the washer-type spring so the inside diameter of spring will make contact with the guide in governor housing.4. Put governor housing (3) in position on the pump housing and install bolts (9). 5. Install the spring on the end of the governor bolt. Install rack stop collar (7).6. Install rack stop collar screw (8).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE7. Install cover (10) and the gasket on the governor housing.
