Information:
start by: a) remove timing gear coverb) remove fuel injection pump housing and governorc) remove fuel transfer pump 1. Remove the oil drain line (2) for the accessory drive and disconnect the fuel drain line (3).2. Remove nut, washer and sleeve from the accessory drive shaft. 3. Remove the accessory drive gear with tooling (A).
Hold puller with hand to prevent injury when gear is removed from shaft.
4. Remove bolts (4), two locks and retainer (5).5. Remove the accessory drive housing (1). Weight is 40 lb. (18 kg).6. Remove the accessory drive shaft and bearing as a unit. 7. Remove bearing (6) from shaft with tool (B).Install Accessory Drive Housing And Shaft (D330C, D333C, 3304 & 3306 Marine Engines)
1. Heat the bearing for the accessory drive shaft in oil to a maximum temperature of 300° F (149° C) and install the bearing on the shaft. 2. Install the accessory drive shaft (1) and bearing as a unit into the housing. 3. Install the accessory drive housing.4. Install the retainer and bolts on the accessory drive shaft. 5. Turn the accessory drive shaft until tool (A) can be installed. 6. Install the accessory drive shaft and drive gear (3). Install the conical washer so the outer edge makes contact on the gear first. Install and tighten the nut (2) to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (13.8 1.4 mkg).7.
