Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the procedure for installation of the Engine Cooling Fan Bypass attachments on machines shipped from the factory without the attachment installed.The Engine Cooling Fan Bypass attachment is critical to the successful completion of the Tier IV aftertreatment automatic regeneration when the machine is sitting at low idle in very low ambient −18° C (0° F) conditions. Each piece of the update in this special instruction is critical to the success of this feature.After assembly is complete, prepare the machine for service.Read the information and understand the information in this publication before you perform any procedures.Safety
Do not attempt to assemble this machine until you have read and understand the assembly instructions. Improper procedures could result in injury or death.
Do not let any dirt or foreign material get into the hydraulic system during assembly or maintenance operation. Keep the oil in the hydraulic system at the correct level to prevent pump cavitation.

Removal
Put vacuum on the hydraulic tank.
Remove the right-hand engine enclosure door first. Second, remove the lower right-hand enclosure.

Disconnect line (A) at the bottom of the cooler. Cap and retain line for installation.

Bolt bracket assembly (2) to bosses inside right-hand radiator guard with three bolts (1) and three washers (8) .

Inspect control manifold (4). Ensure that solenoid valve (A) is installed in the port closest to port "1". Ensure that the flow control valve is installed in the port closest to port "2". If the valves are not assembled correctly, they will need to be reversed. Tighten the flow control valve to a torque of 47.0 2.5 N m (34.7 1.8 lb ft). Tighten the Solenoid Valve to a torque of 47.5 2.7 N m (35.0 2.0 lb ft).

Install two connectors (5) and two seals (9). As shown in Illustration 4.

Removal
