2. Disconnect two electrical wires (1). 3. Disconnect electrical connector (2) and remove spring (3). 4. Remove nut (5) and remove rod (4) from bell crank (6). 5. Remove four truss head screws (7) and cover (8). 6. Remove four bolts (9) and remove the governor/decelerator and brake control from the cab. Install the governor/decelerator and brake control in the reverse order.Disassemble Governor Control & Decelerator Group
Start By:a. remove governor/decelerator and brake control 1. Loosen bolt (3) and remove lever (1) from shaft (2). Loosen bolt (5) and remove pedal (6) from shaft (4). 2. Remove key (7) from shaft (2) and remove housing (8) from shaft (2). 3. Remove four socket head bolts (11) and spacer (12) securing cover (10) to housing (13) and remove cover (10) and plate (9) with two gaskets from housing (13). 4. Remove plate assembly (16), two rollers (17), two springs (18), spring (15), shaft assembly (2) and spring (14) from cover (10). 5. Remove spring (19), and remove tie warp (21) not shown securing connector (20) not shown to bracket. 6. Remove cotter (24) and washer and pin (23). 7. Remove two bolts and nuts (26) securing position sensor (25) to bracket (27) and remove position sensor (25). 8. Remove shaft (4) with lever (28) from housing (13). 9. Loosen bolt (30) and remove lever (29) from shaft assembly (31). 10. Remove shaft assembly (31) from housing (13). 11. Loosen bolt (33) and remove pedal (34) from shaft (32). 12. Remove retaining ring (36) and washer (35) using Tool (A) from shaft (32). 13. Remove two bolts and washers (41) and bracket (42) not shown from housing (13). Mark orientation of lever (39) to shaft (32). Loosen bolt (40) and remove lever (39) from shaft (32). Using Tool (A) remove retaining ring (38) and washer (37) from shaft (32) and remove shaft (32) from housing (13). 14. Remove bearing (43) and two bearings (44) from housing (13). Remove two bearings (45) from housing (13).Assemble Governor Control & Decelerator Group
Pack all bearings with 5P-0960 Cartridge Grease when they are installed. 1. Using Tool (B) and driver on the stamped end of bearings (45), (44) and (43) install the bearings in housing (13). 2. Install shaft (32) in housing (13). Using Tool (A) install washers (37) and retaining ring (38) on shaft (32). Install lever (39) on shaft (32) and tighten bolt (40). Install bracket (42) not shown on housing (13) and install two bolts and washers (41). 3. Using Tool (A) install washer (35) and retaining ring (36) on shaft (32). 4. Install pedal (34) on shaft (32) and tighten bolt (33). 5. Install shaft assembly (31) in housing (13). 6. Install lever (29) on shaft (31) and tighten bolt (30). 7. Install shaft (4) with lever (28) in housing (13).
Typical Example8. Install position sensor (25) on bracket (27) and install two bolts and nuts (26). 9. Install pin and washer (23) and cotter (24). 10. Install spring (19) and tie wrap (21) not shown securing connector (20) not shown to bracket (22). 11. Install spring (14) in cover (10). Put shaft assembly (2), spring (15), plate assembly (16), two springs (18) and two rollers (17) in position in cover (10). 12. Install plate (9) with two gaskets and cover (10) in position on housing (13). Install for socket head bolts (11) and spacer (12) in cover (10). 13. Install housing (8) on shaft (2) until tight and then back out one quarter of a turn, install key (7) on shaft (2). 14. Install pedal (6) on shaft (4) and tighten bolt (5). Install lever (1) on shaft (2) and install bolt (3).End By:a. install governor control and decelerator group
