Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the procedure to rework the 342-7800 Scavenge Pump to eliminate potential for misalignment during assembly on certain Off-Highway Truck engines.Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.Note: The rework is not intended to be a field fit, the rework is intended to be completed at a Component Repair Center (CRC) during an engine or component rebuild.Important Safety Information

Note: Dimension (A) to the shaft centerline with tolerance is the critical dimension to maintain the desired gear mesh.Note: The gears back lash should be 0.257 to .597 mm (0.010 to 0.024 inch).
