AFRC "A/F RATIO I-GAIN" "Air/Fuel Integral Gain" If a module is replaced, the appropriate parameters must be copied from the old module. The settings can be recorded on paper and then programmed into the new module. Alternatively, this can be done with the "Copy Configuration" feature of the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).
Changing the parameters during engine operation can cause the engine to operate erratically. This can cause engine damage.Unless you are otherwise instructed, only change the settings of the parameters when the engine is STOPPED.

"DES FULL LOAD O2"
This parameter is the desired percent of exhaust oxygen when the engine is at 100 percent of rated load. The programmed value is assumed to be a dry oxygen reading. The oxygen sensor actually measures a wet reading. The software in the ECM is programmed in order to compensate for the difference.Entering a higher value of desired oxygen will cause the engine to run lean, with a higher air/fuel ratio. Leaner running causes these conditions: reduced exhaust emissions, lower exhaust temperatures, slightly increased fuel consumption and decreased power reserve.Entering a lower value of desired oxygen will cause the engine to run on a richer mixture, with a lower air/fuel ratio. Richer running causes these conditions: greater exhaust emissions, higher exhaust temperatures, lower fuel consumption and increased power reserve. If the air/fuel mixture is too rich, detonation can occur.Governor Gain Settings
The settings for the governor gains tailor the governor's response to the application. There are individual adjustments for the proportional gain, the stability, and the compensation. These settings are also called proportional gain, integral gain, and derivative gain. There are primary gains and alternate gains. Two sets of gains allow the engine's performance to be optimal under different conditions. For example, primary gains would be selected when the generator is on the grid. Alternate gains would be selected when the generator is off the grid. The primary gains are selected when terminal P1-35 on the ECM is an open circuit. The DDT will display "DISABLED" for the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" setting. The Cat ET will display "Disabled" for the "Auxiliary #1 Governor Gain" setting. The alternate gains are selected when terminal P1-35 is connected to ground. The DDT will display "ENABLED" for the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" setting. The Cat ET will display "Enabled" for the "Auxiliary #1 Governor Gain" setting."GOV P-GAIN"
This parameter is based on a proportional multiplier. This parameter determines the speed of the throttle actuator's response in adjusting for the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. Increasing this value provides a faster response to the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. "GOV STAB"
This parameter is based on an integral multiplier. This parameter controls the speed for elimination of the error in the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. Increasing this value provides less damping."GOV COMP"
This parameter is based on a derivative multiplier. This parameter is used to adjust for the time delay between the control signal and the movement of the throttle actuator. If this value is too low, the engine speed will slowly hunt. If this value is too high, the engine speed will rapidly fluctuate."AUX 1 GOV GAIN"
This parameter is based on a proportional multiplier. This parameter determines the speed of the throttle actuator's response in adjusting for the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. Increasing this value provides a faster response to the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. This parameter changes the reaction of the throttle actuator when the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" parameter is enabled. If changing this value causes no effect, check the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" in order to make sure that the status is "ENABLED"."AUX 1 GOV STAB"
This parameter is based on an integral multiplier. This parameter controls the speed for elimination of the error in the difference between the actual speed and the desired speed. Increasing this value provides less damping. This parameter changes the reaction of the throttle actuator when the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" parameter is enabled. If changing this value causes no effect, check the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" in order to make sure that the status is "ENABLED"."AUX 1 GOV COMP"

If this value is too low, the engine speed will slowly hunt. If this value is too high, the engine speed will rapidly fluctuate. This parameter changes the reaction of the throttle actuator when the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" parameter is enabled. If changing this value causes no effect, check the "AUX 1 GOV GAINS" in order to make sure that the status is "ENABLED"."LOW IDLE SPEED"
This parameter sets the engine's low idle speed. The valid range for this parameter is from 250 to 1500 rpm. The engine will attemp
