1. Disconnect tube assembly (1) at the fitting in the cylinder block.2. Remove bolts (2) that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. 3. Install tooling (A) on each side of the flywheel housing (3). Use washers as needed to make tooling (A) straight. Fasten a hoist to tooling (A).4. Remove bolt (4) that holds the shaft in place.5. Remove bolts (5) that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. Remove flywheel housing (3). The weight is 115 lb. (52 kg).Install Flywheel Housing
1. Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and flywheel housing. Install a new gasket on the cylinder block.2. Install two 1/2"-13 NC guide pins 180° apart in the cylinder block. 3. Install tooling (A) on each side of the flywheel housing. Use washers as needed to make tooling (A) straight. Fasten a hoist.4. Put flywheel housing (1) in position on the cylinder block. 5. Install the bolts that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in number sequence to a torque of 100 11 lb.ft. (135 15 N m). Tighten bolts 9 through 17 in number sequence to a torque of 41 5 lb.ft. (55 7 N m). Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in number sequence again to a torque of 100 11 lb.ft. (135 15 N m). Tighten bolts 9 through 17 in number sequence again to a torque of 41 5 lb.ft. (55 7 N m).6. Install the bolt that holds shaft (2) in place to the cylinder block. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m). 7. start by:a) remove flywheel housing 1. Remove the bolts and nuts that hold adapter (1) in place. Remove adapter (1). 2. Remove bearing cup (2) from adapter (1). Remove O-ring seal (3). 3. Remove gear assembly (4) from the flywheel housing. 4. Remove bearing cone (5) from each side of the gear assembly with tooling (A). 5. Remove bearing cup (6) from the flywheel housing. 6. Remove the bolt from shaft (7). Remove shaft (7) with tooling (B).7. Remove the O-ring seals from the shaft. 8. Remove gear assembly (8) from the flywheel housing. 9. Remove bearing cone (9), spacer (10) and bearing cone (12) from gear (11). 10. Remove bearing cup (13), spacer (14) and bearing cup (15) from gear (11). Remove the ring from gear (11).Assemble Flywheel Housing
1. Inspect the O-ring seals and ports for damage and make replacements if needed. 2. Install the ring in gear (1). Install spacer (2) in the gear.3. Lower the temperature of bearing cups (3) and (4). Install bearing cup (3) and (4) in the gear. 4. Install bearing cone (7), spacer (6) and bearing cone (5) in gear (1). 5. Install gear assembly (8) in the flywheel housing. 6. Install O-ring seals (9) on shaft (10). Put clean oil on the seals. Make an alignment of the holes in the shaft with the holes in the flywheel housing and install shaft (10). Install one of the bolts to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m). 7. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (11). Install bearing cup (11). 8. Heat bearing cones (12) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install bearing cones (12) on gear (13). 9. Install gear assembly (14) in the flywheel housing. 10. Lower the temperature of bearing cone (15). Install bearing cone (15) in adapter (17).11. Install O-ring seal (16) on adapter (17). Put clean oil on the O-ring seal. 12. Install adapter (17) on the flywheel housing.end by:a) install flywheel housing
