Information:
1. Disconnect wire (1) from the sending unit.2. Loosen hose clamp (2) and remove bolt (3) and the clip. Disconnect the hose. 3. Remove the bolts and nuts and cover (4).4. Remove five bolts (5) from the timing gear cover. 5. Disconnect wire (9) and remove the clip. 6. Remove bracket (10) and the bolts that hold it to the timing gear cover.7. Loosen hose clamps (7) and (8).8. Remove bolts (6) and the pipe.9. Put lifting bracket (10) back into position and install the bolts.10. Remove four bolts and nuts (12) and alternator bracket (11). 11. Remove two bolts (13) that hold the timing gear cover to the timing gear plate from the plate side. 12. Remove oil pickup tube (14) and the bolts that hold it in position.
Make a rotation of the engine so the connecting rod and the crankshaft are above the bottom surface of the engine block.
13. Put hydraulic jack (15) of approved capacity in position under the engine. Put tool (A) in position as shown. Do not damage the connecting rod or crankshaft with tool (A). 14. Remove tube assembly (16) and loosen clamp (17). 15. Fasten a hoist to bracket (10).16. Remove three bolts (21) from the bottom of the engine front support.17. Remove eight bolts (20) from the back of the front support. Remove the front support.18. Remove five bolts (18) from timing gear cover (17).19. Remove the timing gear cover (19). The weight of the cover is 94 lb. (43 kg).20. Remove the water ferrule, seal and clamp.Install Timing Gear Cover
1. Clean the old gasket from the surfaces of the timing gear cover and timing gear plate that make contact with each other.2. Install a new gasket on the timing gear plate. Cut the gasket even with the bottom face of the cylinder block. Put 5H2471 Gasket Cement on the bottom of the gasket where the gasket makes contact with the oil pan gasket. 3. Fasten a hoist to the timing gear cover (1). Put the water ferrule, seal and clamp in position on the back side of the timing gear cover. Install the clamp with the adjustment screw toward the top and approximately 45° to the right of the vertical (as seen from the front of the engine). Make sure the seal is installed all the way into the counterbore before the clamp is tightened.4. Install the five bolts in the timing gear cover around the water pump opening. 5. Tighten clamp (3) and install tube assembly (2). 6. Put front support (4) in position. 7. Install four bolts (6). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 40 5 lb.ft. (55 7 N m).8. Install four bolts (7). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 66 11 lb.ft. (90 15 N m).9. Install bolts (5) and (8). Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 640 80 lb.ft. (870 110 N m).10. Remove tooling (A) and the hydraulic jack. 11. Install oil pickup tube (9) and the bolts that hold it in position. 12. Put alternator bracket (10) in position and install the bolts that hold the bracket in position.13. Install the two bolts (11) from behind the cover. 14. Put pipe assembly (12) in position and install the clamps.15. Install the bolt in clamp (13).16. Install wire (14). Install the bolts in pipe assembly (12) and clip (15). 17. Install five bolts (18) and two clips (16).18. Install the gasket, plate (17) and the bolts and nuts. 19. Connect wire (19) to the sending unit.20. Put hose (20) in position and install the clamp.21. Install clip (21) and the bolt.end by:a) install crankshaft front pulleyb) install water pumpc) install alternatord) install oil pane) install radiator and guardf) install engine hoods

Tighten clamp (3) and install tube assembly (2). 6. Put front support (4) in position. 7. Install four bolts (6). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 40 5 lb.ft. (55 7 N m).8. Install four bolts (7). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 66 11 lb.ft. (90 15 N m).9. Install bolts (5) and (8). Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 640 80 lb.ft. (870 110 N m).10. Remove tooling (A) and the hydraulic jack. 11. Install oil pickup tube (9) and the bolts that hold it in position. 12. Put alternator bracket (10) in position and install the bolts that hold the bracket in position.13.
