Table 1
J1939 Code and Description Comments
30-2
Engine Crankcase Blowby Pressure : Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
30-3
Engine Crankcase Blowby Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
30-4
Engine Crankcase Blowby Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
30-12
Engine Crankcase Blowby Pressure : Failure The ECM has detected an internal failure. Replace the Engine ECM.
94-3
Fuel Delivery Pressure Sensor : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
94-4
Fuel Delivery Pressure Sensor : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
95-2
Engine Fuel Filter Differential Pressure : Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect This code indicates that the fuel pressure sensor connections are swapped.
Swap the connectors for the unfiltered and filtered fuel pressure sensors.
99-2
Engine Oil Filter Differential Pressure : Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect This code indicates that the oil pressure sensor connections are swapped.
Swap the connectors for the oil pressure sensor before the secondary filter and the oil pressure sensor after the secondary filter.
100-3
Engine Oil Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
100-4
Engine Oil Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
101-3
Engine Crankcase Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
101-4
Engine Crankcase Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
102-3
Engine intake manifold #1 pressure: Voltage above normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
102-4
Engine intake manifold #1 pressure : Voltage below normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
105-3
Engine Intake Manifold #1 Temperature : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
105-4
Engine Intake Manifold #1 Temperature : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
108-3
Barometric Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
108-4
Barometric Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
157-3
Engine Injector Metering Rail #1 Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
157-4
Engine Injector Metering Rail #1 Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
157-10
Engine Injector Metering Rail #1 Pressure : Abnormal Rate of Change Diagnostic is active when the pressure value unexpectedly and drastically changes. A loose electrical connection is the likely source of this fault.
157-20
Engine Injector Metering Rail #1 Pressure : Data Drifted High The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
157-21
Engine Injector Metering Rail #1 Pressure : Data Drifted Low The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
171-3

2630-4
Engine Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
2631-3
Engine Charge Air Cooler Outlet Pressure : Voltage Above Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range.
2631-4
Engine Charge Air Cooler Outlet Pressure : Voltage Below Normal The ECM detects a signal voltage that is not in the acceptable range. Three different types of pressure sensors are found on this engine. The first type of sensor found is commonly seen on other Cat applications which is a 3 wire analog, active pressure sensor. The second type of sensor found is another 3 wire analog, active pressure sensor, 439-4065 Sensor, used for a fuel rail pressure measurement. The wiring to this sensor varies from the typical 3 wire pressure sensors found elsewhere on the engine.
Terminal 1: Sensor Ground
Terminal 2: Sensor Signal
Terminal 3: Sensor Supply VoltageThe third type of sensor found on the engine is a combination pressure and temperature sensor. This sensor is a 4 wire sensor that has a common power supply and ground with two independent signal wires, one for pressure feedback and one for temperature feedback.
Terminal 1 : Sensor Ground
Terminal 2: Temperature Signal
Terminal 3: Sensor Supply Voltage
Terminal 4: Pressure SignalThe supply voltage is routed to terminal 1 of each sensor connector. The sensor return is routed to terminal 2 of each sensor connector. The sensor signal is routed to terminal 3 of each sensor connector. The Electronic Control Module (ECM) provides short circuit protection for the internal power supply. A short circuit to the battery will not damage the internal power supply.Diagnostics on the Cat® Electronic Technician (ET)Wiggle Test - The Wiggle Test allows you to monitor the status of the signals from the sensors. For additional information regarding the Wiggle Test, refer to the documentation that accompanies the Cat ET software.
